Hi Bob, im looking for a rugged laptop to run volvo diagnostic software on nothing else. No fancy graphics, no office applications, just win7 pro perhaps even win10 pro at the max end with printer software for printouts using Internet Explorer for the diagnostic software display.

It must be waterproof, shock and vibration resitant or least able to absorb some sitting on an engine components (air intake filter cover) while the car is running in the shop or roadside.

Any suggestions that would be best suited between Toughbook cf19 or Getac b300 or any other you would recommend outside those. Cannot be a tablet though, only laptop form factor.

I have a question that I have not been able to get so far.. Can I install linux on this B300 Getac. I think this is really a driver availability Issue. The question might be better asked - are the wifi, BT, touch screen drivers not supported in linux. I would really love to know be for I buy one.

Bob, Can you recommend a SSD 2TB that will work with the Getac B300? The 2TB Plater Drives we have are failing. Thank you

I'm assuming I am having issues with thermals on my Getac B300g5. It shuts off almost instantly when booting into a OS, works fine when booted to bios. Do you know what thickness of thermal pad do I need for the CPU? I've tried using Arctic Silver thermal paste and I am assuming its not contacting the bottom panel. Might try a copper shim but I don't want to accidentally crack the CPU die.

I got a good deal on my fed Ex delivered several questions on the box and still had to buy few parts drivers and more the service plan all that stuff should I go further they were to send rest of the components which I purchased separately
