Just started an apprenticeship for Transmissions and the first rebuild I did I had to fix this issue

I got a 2019 f150 and had to have the transmission rebuilt at 67 thousand miles. It’s got 82, 000 now and still doesn’t shift good

Got a 2018 and just had mine rebuilt at 178k miles. Running and shifting great now. Cdf was trashed, valve body replaced and converter was replaced among a few other things.

I got a 2018 just replaced the transmission at 152k and it has pulled a 5k trailer for most of those miles. I have the filter and fluid changed every 30k.

It’s not the bushings it’s the hydraulic sealing sleeve the shifts in it’s bore. The updated hub has a recess to prevent it. Usually have a 9th gear incorrect gear ratio code. When it’s that bad. Still no TSBs for the 10R140 with the same problem.

I see this at work quite often. Been building them for 8yrs.

They replaced my bushing in my 2020 7.3 v8. It was shifting hard in several gears eventually sticking. Works good now. Sometimes shifts hard.

What exactly causes this? Is it inevitable on all older 10r transmissions?

2011 f150 with 305k... I've changed the trans fluid twice. Oil changes every 5k. Still going strong.. never been rebuilt

Yes, seen too many of this issues. Ford says they have made improvement to CDF hub in 2022.

Man my old fords never needed a transmission. Just tires. Fluids, Batteries and brakes. Never even changed a belt on my 99 or 05. Sold the 99 with 300k and was tboned in the 05 at 200k plus.

I use manual transmission. 300k miles on it. Don’t know if it’s doing as good as it’s prime, but it’s lived longer than the life of engines.

I will NEVER put an automatic in any car I own. Nuts HATE the headache, especially slipping.

Honestly so sad this is the quality of bew gen fords. In the comments i see alot of peopel having issues and ford should be ashamed they're letting these many issues slip. Great to keep the techs employed tho

You ever figure out the growning noise in the 2015 f150 6 speeds. Service bulletin doesnt resolve issue for long as it comes back

STOP BLAMING THE TRANSMISSION. This transmission hold up to 800HP just fine. It’s the tune that Ford has for them from factory it’s trash and causes early failure. Get a aftermarket tune and watch the temp drop and shifts like butter

Glad I have a 6R80 from 2013 with my 5.0 f150 and it still runs good at 95k

That's a manufactured defection right there.
I own a 1996 4runner with a a340f transmission ( 27 year old transmission ) and still running like a champ.
