IN FULL: Piers Morgan clashes with Norman Finkelstein on Gaza-Israel conflict

Dr Norman Finkelstein joins Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan for a wide-ranging interview after being one of the most sought-after guests to discuss the Israel-Palestine conflict on his show.

During the interview, Mr Morgan grilled the academic over his controversial remarks following Hamas' assault on the Jewish people.

Dr Finkelstein called the October 7 attacks by Hamas “heroic” in a social media post hours after they first took place.

He defended his statement, claiming it was based on the initial news that the number of lives killed in the attack was not "beyond 50".

"I was not aware that the numbers had been beyond 50 when I made that statement," he told Mr Morgan.

"I will further state that to my knowledge ... I did not make another statement until the numbers start to grow and I admit ... it was a moral quandary for me."

Mr Morgan told Dr Finkelstein he found it "incredulous" he was not aware of the extent of Hamas' terror attack even in the days following the event.

"When it comes to what you're saying here, it seems to me what you're trying to paint is a picture of moral justification for what Hamas did – and that's where you lose me," Mr Morgan said.

"Because I don't see why there could be anyone who can see the scale of what Hamas did on October 7 and not simply condemn it out of hand."
