You're just using the elasticity to effectively just disconnect the bands from the posts.

If the top bar was properly connected this really would have been impossible. It's basic topology.

After moving the ring to either one of the poles (like he did at first), just slide the ring through the inside of the rope loop. It got out without pulling the rope in weird multi-dimensional quantum shape.

Without removing the rope and yet you removed it. Try solving without removing it
