For anyone wanting to do this: DO NOT POUR THE ALCOHOL DIRECTLY ONTO THE CONTROLLER, SOAK A COTTON BALL OR Q-TIP AND APPLY IT THAT WAY

I was very skeptical… but it works GREAT! Remove batteries, use a q-tip, and use the alcohol sparingly. Work the stuck button a few times, and bam… good as new! Thank you for posting!!!

Mixing alcohol with ibuprofen is not a good idea. Your controller may get liver damage.

WHEN TRYING THIS, THERE'S A FEW THINGS TO CONSIDER:
1. Make sure you have 100 percent isopropyl. Anything less will take too long to dry for these buttons.
2. Do NOT move the controller to a vertical position. Always have it horizontal on the bench.
3. DO NOT take a long time before pressing the buttons.
4. Do not spray repeatedly into the button at the one time.
5. Do not bump the P button and turn it back on. And please remove any batteries first.
If you are a klutz like me and you do accidentally turn it on, leave it flat on the bench and run to turn on the ps5. Don't tilt the controller... 😅 But it should be fine if you bump it, as it dries pretty quickly. The issue is when you tilt it. See below.

The issue that can occur:
All these things above causes the drop of isopropyl to get BEHIND the buttons. This doesn't cause any induction or whatever ppl are saying. You can spray an entire motherboard and it will dry within seconds - unless the PC is still on in which case goodbye mother board.

The real issue is that unlike the PS4 controller Educa has the paint of the button on top, the PS5 controller buttons have the paint for each button, underneath.
If your isopropyl gets behind the buttons & stays there, it will cause the paint to come off... And that's a lot more residue that will now be stuck in the buttons than what you probably started with. It also ruins the plastic buttons underneath.

But follow the instructions below and you won't have the same issues that I did.

Instructions for cleaning your PS5 controller:-

1. Make sure the controller is laid flat on the counter.

2. Spray a tiny drop into one of the buttons. Do one at a time (if it's really bad). Press the button repeatedly for over 30 to 1 minute. By that time the isopropyl would have dried. Repeat the process if it's still sticky afterwards. But... Wait a bit before you turn on your controller. It should have dried by the repeated pressing, but it's good to make sure!!

3. Keep the damn thing flat on the counter even when letting it dry lol.

4. If you are nervous about putting a drop of isopropyl into the buttons, then try these two below:

A) Spray a bit of isopropyl onto a tiny artist paint brush (synthetic - not horse hair). Move the buttons over to the side, as much as you can, and clean in between there.
Or
B) Spray a bit onto a thin pin - the Sim Card tools got mobiles - where you push to insert the Sim would be great here!!

4. Wait a few minutes before turning on the controller & ps5 before testing it out. It should be working perfectly fine now! Just like two of my PS5 controllers.

I'll share in the comments below what happened to my 3rd controller - my favorite red one. 😢 I'm such a klutz and an idiot.... don't make the same mistake i did please!! 😂❤

I definitely would not recommend pouring it into the controller. Get a Cotten swab or a gauze pad and pour the alcohol on it, then wipe the buttons down. You could very easily damage the motherboard by just pouring it lmao

This helped me, thanks! Just don't apply too much, about a few drops per button. I managed to get Start, A, B, X, Y buttons to work like new again!!!!

Its easier to wash your hands first when grabing a controller, the spray works better.

At that point, just dunk the controller in water. If you’re gonna damage the motherboard, do it right.

I didn't have that type of Alcohol. So I used Vodka. It worked . I think. I kinda had a few drinks after I dabbed it on the Controller. Soon as I sober up I'll try the Controller.

70% Isopropyl alcohol is not a good idea since there is more water in that bottle than the better option of using 91% Isopropyl alcohol which evaporates very quickly and won’t soak and damage your electrical components.

This should work but please let the controller dry off properly first, maybe don't spill it on the controller either. Use a cotton swab or even a towel, just don't pour it on there. It's recommended to use at least 91% but preferably use 99% alcohol and that will guarantee not to damage the electronic.
