I've operated into and out of Dublin many many times (used to be based there). We all know, we all get to the hold point and have to delay while we wait for the cabin but having wound the controller up by taking ages (not really your fault - but you have to accept the problems you've created for the controller), you DO NOT then take an eon completing you checks and refuse to clear the way for people behind you. You swallow your medicine and if she needs you to get out of the way of people who are ready, get out of the way and apologise. To hold everybody up for as long as this crew did, just to avoid losing their place is selfish and unprofessional.

I've had this same problem here in Italy. Someone will come up and put their groceries on the belt, then wander off to find the one or two things they forgot, keeping those behind waiting.

He needed to follow the first set of instructions given by the controller. Controllers see the full picture and pilots also need to be ready when they say they are.
