Morty breaking up with Planetina was one of the most emotional moments in Rick and Morty history.

I think what makes this scene resonate is the fact so many of us have lived this very moment. Having to say goodbye to someone you love when your heart is raging against the very idea of doing it but your mind understands its the only options available to us.

People are missing the point. Morty isn't exactly a hypocrite for being unable to tolerate what Planetina did.

Dude was attracted to her because she legitimately stood for good things. It reminded Morty of when he used to believe in right and wrong, before everything was shades of gray. He needed that because for the last couple of seasons he kinda adapted to what Rick does. And he hates it and wants to be better.

He was so heartbroken because when she started killing, things rounded right back to Rick's twisted morally gray worldview.

She was a breath of fresh air that made him better for it and it killed him inside to see she was just like him.

Last few episodes this season had him trying to do right again, albeit in the new twisted Rick way.

To think Beth was actually being a good mom for once only to immediately turn her back on Morty in the Gotron episode :(

You gotta feel sorry for Morty. He finally meets a girl who actually likes him back and begins a real solid relationship with her, unlike other girls in the past seasons, only to have it end in tragedy. He didn't want to break up with Planetina, but he had no choice. Seeing Morty heart broken is just too painful, even I couldn't bear it considering he's the only character I like. He needs lots of love and fan support now.

This resonated with me hard, much more than I was expecting. Sometimes relationships aren’t meant to last, but when you go on with your life and try to move on, that relationship resonated. The experience will always be apart of you.

Funny, if Rick had been with Morty, he’d be giving him so much shit for this. Morty is basically doing the same thing he did with the fart: killing others to save someone special, only to “dump” them when he discovers they killed too. And Planetina’s a superhero being used for PR. We all know how Rick feels about these kind of heroes

The end of this episode will easily always be the most heart wrenching tear jerking thing ever. The betrayal, heartbreak, and confusion in there voices are so amazing it truly depicts such a real event that everyone in there life has to go through. And when Beth walked in and was super motherly holding morty telling him everything would be better was just the icing on top of it all amazing ending and Sven absolutely phenomenal

Hands down one of my favorite episodes. This is the kind of thing I love to see in this show: A break from most of the sarcasm and cynicism the show is known for. I want that emotional impact.

I feel bad for Planetina. She said she can hear and probably feel what the earth is feeling so she’s probably in constant pain.
