Beth actually shifts her mood once she hears Morty say "EVERYTHING I SAY IS ALWAYS MET WITH AN EYEROLL."
I don't think she's used to Morty actually articulating how he feels.

I like how Jerry the only one somewhat concerned Morty went on a murder rampage.

Morty's rant before he leaves the house really resonated with me. Everyone except Jerry has probably disregarded him and treated him like his opinions and comments are meaningless. They just see Morty as an errand boy or just play old useless. It was really refreshing to see him lash out like that, I got disappointed that Planetina ended up being a psycho at the end, but you know Morty learned a valuable lesson.

After that Morty's mindblowers episode where Beth saves Summer over Morty, his words feel pretty justified here.

When Beth looked at the door to see if it would open back up, and it didn't, it really showed the emotional turmoil which I was incredibly proud of for this writing. I've learned that when someone cries without their voice breaking means that they are at their absolute emotional limit, Morty crying so much this episode is SURE to develop into something more.

Who else notices Jerry cheats the game by skipping a square and even takes beth’s turn without rolling dice so he can punch the dude?

I mean in morty’s defense, that one episode where his mom had to choose between which of her kids would live and she chose summer so fast even the alien going to kill them was surprised… kinda with morty on this one

Morty murdering a room full of people = whatever.
Morty having a girlfriend = way to young.

I think it’s so funny how Jerry says “What a romantic story about our son killing a room full of people.”. I think it’s even funnier how he then says “Your Turn!”, like he so invested in the board game, and just loses all concern, idk it’s just so hilarious to me 😂

While it's nice seeing Beth FINALLY be a parent, it's rather rich she starts acting all concerned NOW after years of letting Rick drag her entire family into danger constantly for bare-minimum emotional validation.

To be entirely fair, if anyone in this show has matured, Morty has; he's constantly looking out for himself and others and even though he's anxious as shit, he's been able to literally kill people to keep shit in line.

the funny thing is, morty is actually way more mature than he was in earlier seasons. he’s more confident in himself, he can solve his own problems, he’s traveled around the universe, hell he buried himself and had to come to terms with it, which he successfully did. he’s a lot more mature than people give him credit for, especially at 14

“Hey now, it’s only a game”
“SHUT UP! “SHUT UP!”
“ok :( “
poor jerry just wanted to play his board game

the moment morty starts yelling at beth, i love that she is at first upset with morty, but then start to feel horrible with herself for making morty feel that way.

1:19 Morty said all that without stuttering even once. That's how you know he meant everything he said.

Jerry: what a romantic story about our son killing a room full of people
Morty who’s killed people since the pilot and has almost wiped out entire civilisations: ._.

I love how morty’s development isn’t necessarily becoming a better person, or making good choices, it’s about understanding himself, and how to express his feelings. Love that kid 👍🏻

Y’know, not to give Jerry more credit than he deserves, but I think he was probably the most rational person in that room at that moment. Beth is a terrible mother, and while this type of reaction would be completely normal in a normal environment, Morty and Beth both live with Rick. Jerry was more concerned that Morty mercilessly killed people with no remorse rather than being with Planetina because there’s no social pressure for anyone in that house to really abide by. If the entire family can break earths laws and travel inter dimensionally and do anything they want, why can’t Morty be together with Planetina? Jerry has probably accepted that fact instead of trying to reason with the madness anymore since its become clear nothing changes that there are no rules for them to stand by

Season 5 has been an unstoppable force of nature so far. The show hasn't been this consistently mindblowing, week in week out, since I'd argue Season 2.
