The 4 Traits You Need in the Restaurant Business

Here are the top 4 traits you need to be successful in this industry.

1. You need to have an upbeat attitude. Your attitude will trickle down to your team and your customers.

2. You need to actually like people. This is a service industry, and dealing with people comes with the territory.

3. You need to be a good problem solver. Something happens, figure it out and keep the ball rolling.

4. You need to be passionate about your work. If you hate what you do, it’ll show and the people working for you will be miserable, too.

The restaurant industry isn’t for everyone, but if you have these 4 traits, you’ll probably love it.

"Find a solution and keep marching" That's truth right there. Been doing that through the good and the bad.... never give up and just keep on trucking along.

I love the way each advice you give is a step closer to finishing the sandwiches you're making😂 They honestly look so good and fresh, wish I was the customer ordering them😭🤤😋 And with the smoke going around the fryers?! I bet you the place smells heavenly with all the great food yall making😭❤ I also love the way you have all the traits you're talking about to inspire people, you're such an amazing person, your crew is so fortunate to have you lead them, and I wish you all the very best😁

Number 4 is spot on.

Number one thing you always hear from people who have never worked in the industry

"I've always thought I could open my own restaurant or food truck, I'm a really good cook"

Man.... Good cooks go out of business all the time.

Coming from a 6 year line-cook veteran, sense of humor is almost always required as well. If you can't take shit from your co-workers, every day is gonna suck.

Those are 4 traits for anyone who run a business in the service industry. Sir, you make me want to visit Detroit just to shake your hand, but I wouldn't be able to leave without getting something to eat. Your stuff looks insane. We ain't got anything like ya in Va

I run a manufacturing business and seek out people who have been servers and restaurant workers for these very reasons. These traits work well in all business.

My man is right. If there is company and fun in a restaurant... customers will come. Most people/couples go out to ha fun and eat. We had this mexican place and it was full every day. We cooked in front of them, laugh and answer questions. Good time and thanks for giving advice
