ALL Xenomorphs Explained

Over the last 40 years we’ve seen many versions of the xenomorph monster in alien sequels, video games, comic books and the crossover with the predator franchise.

So in today’s video, I’ll explain every single xenomorph version, including really rare and extreme hybrids from comics that you probably have never hear off.

The Ovomorph is the first alien life form that we encounter in the original alien of 1979. Often referred to it as an alien egg, it’s a separate organism containing a fully grown facehugger.

It also worth to mention the egg sacks from Alien Covenant, which just like ovomorphs intiate the creation of an alien organism.

The Facehugger is a parasitoid organism that hatches from an alien eggs. Facehuggers are extremely fast and agile and their purpose is to neutralize a host.

One particular variation of that creature is the royal face hugger from Alien 3 that has an ability to lay an alien Queen embryo inside a host.

The octo-facehugger is a xenomorph organism that was cut from Prometheus. In the early script this organism was supposed to impregnate Holloway with the Beluga xenomorph which I’ll explain later in the video. \

The Xenomorph or XX121 is the iconic monster that first appeared in Alien of 1979, it’s a highly aggressive and vicious predator with no other goal than the reproduction of their species and the destruction of any life form they encounter. Like bees, Xenomorphs are hive creatures that are separated in castes and can only reproduce with an alien Queen.

In comic books, animal hosts spanned a few exotic Xenomorphs like the Bull-Alien, the Gorilla-Alien, the Rhino Alien, the Mantis Alien and the Crocodile-Alien which is one of the largest xenomorph types.

In alien 3, we can see the Runner, also known as the Dog Alien or the Scout, which is a xenomorph spawnned from a quadrupedal animal. Runners are smaller that original xenomorphs but they are faster and more agile, and can spit acid from their mouths.

The Jockey-Xenomorph is another alien variant spawned from an Engineer. In Alien of 1979 we can see that the pilot’s fosilized suit was reputed from inside. So the creature that came from this space jockey was never seen and this aspect remains unexplained.

The Crusher from the Colonial Marines game is a stage 6 xenomomorph that possesses a large head crest and is able to inflict a massive amount damage.

The Praetorian also known as the Royal Guard is the final stage of the xenomorph cycle.

The Rogue or the King Alien is a human/xenomorph hybrid created to be a domesticated equivalent of an Alien Queen.

The white hybrid is a xenomorph type from the comics created by a malfunctioned AI that combined DNA of humans, Xenomorphs and yautcha.

The Wraith is a Xenomorphs of an unknown origin found in an Engineer ship.

The Predalien is another interesting variation which is a hybrid of yautcha and Xenomorphs which appears in AVP movies, comics and video games.

Hammerpede is a result of an extraterrestrial worm being exposured to the pathogen on LV-223.

The Beluga-Xenomorph, also called “Holloway Alien” is a Xenomorphs that was supposed be spawned from Holloway after being impregnated by an octo-facehugger in the Engineer temple.

The trilobite is an octopus like creature that was a result of Holloway transmitting the pathogen to Elizabeth shaw.

The deacon is a dark blue xenomorph like creature which was the result of the trilobite impregnating the Engineer. We don’t know too much about it, however based on the mural in the lv 223 temple, Engineers used to worship deacons or maybe a non-violent and more sentient version of them that existed a long time ago.

The Ultramorph is a jockey Xenomorph that was supposed to be spawned from the Engineer instead of the deacon. This creature is extremely tall and possesses some of the features of Engineer bio suits.
The neomorph is a xenomorph type creature spawned from a host that was infected by the egg sacks spores. Since plants on the planet 4 were exposed to the pathogen their seeds carry some version of the Xenomorph DNA.
The protomorph was a xenomorph variant created by David through experimentation with the black goo, creatures from the planet 4 and possible Shaw’s bodyparts.
The next type is the Alien Queen which is a mother of all xenomorphs in a Hive.
The Cloned Queen a xenomorph queen obtained through the cloning of Ellen Ripley.

The New Born is a xenomorph that was created by the cloned Queen. Just like Ripley 8 inherited some of the xenomorph DNA, the cloned Queen also picked up some of the human genome during the clonning process.

The Hybrid, The Flying Queen.

The Chrysalis, a predalien hybrid, the Defender, the Egg-shaped Alien, the star faced alien, The electric Alien , the Infectoid ,the Razor Claws, the Smasher, The armoured Xenomorphs , the Walled alien, the long neck alien and The Arachnoid

Every time I see the scene in Covenant when the guy touches the egg sack and breaths in the spores, all I can think is "is this the caliber of specialist they send?" I think that in that situation, even the janitor on the ship wouldn't be dumb enough to do that without a helmet or mask on.

Can we have a minute of silence for how much time it took him to research this.

Just a side note:
The Deccan was considered a sort of god to the Engineers, and once it died, they tried copying its blood, and ultimately came out with 2 things: 1: a sample of blood that will rapidly destroy the body 2: the trilobite face huger (also, the Deccan was the original alien)

I remember being told about an Alien Empress. It was explained to me as the one that rules over the mothers. The Queen rules over a hive. A mother rules over a planet. An empress rules over multiple planets.

Now we can add the hybrid of a xenomorphe and an human foetus. In Alien Romulus, for me it’s the scariest Alien…

The newborn was both creepy and extremely tragic. I was more disturbed by the way it died than its design.

the comics state that all xenomorphs are telepathic, and the Empress (“queen mother”) is strong enough to contact a few humans
they also don’t attack people with zero fear, and prioritize killing people with more fear first
thats how a scientist basically got a pet xenomorph

I think it's also worth it to note that according to cannon lore, Xenos are a race that assimilates the most useful functions of the races they use to reproduce, and if the lineage continues then the genetic modifications are passed along the ancestry. This is why they are also very intelligent creatures.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but I recall Ripley sensing a kind of "Ultra Queen" in the Dark Horse comics. She was depicted as being an enormous Queen with six, curved blades protruding from her lower jaw. She was a near-planet-sized Queen who was the Ultimate Mother for the entire species. She looked like the Xenomorph "Goddess."

The Ravager and the Carrier from AVP Extinction should be honorable mentions. The Carrier being a xeno that exists as a transport for facehuggers and the Ravager being a Queen sized beast with scythe hands. Very fun lol

0:24 that one scared me the most cause it recognized Ripley as it's mother and how it died is still very unsettling for me cause it was reaching out to Ripley like "Mom please save me"

Ripley 8 is not the "eighth successful" clone. She is the first successful clone of eight attempts. You see her literally obliterate the room where the previous seven attempts were stored. Brutal scene if you ask me.
Otherwise, pretty great video.
