What's the best OTC for dandruff?! For dandruff and dry flakey scalps these are my two favorite shampoos you can get over the counter. Use each 1-2 times per week for best results! Dercos contains salicylic acid while Nizoral contains Ketoconazole.

I use Nizoral as soon as I come home from the hairdresser, as I am not sure about the combs and cisors he uses and if they were cleaned after each client. As soon as I come home, I take a shower and use Nizoral since it is anti-fungal product, even though I took a shower before leaving home and used a different shampoo.
