I'm going to say something as someone whose worked in beauty retail and am the nerd who reads cosmesutical studies.... Silicone, sulfates, alcohols, and parabens are not evil things to be avoided at all cost. They have purposes in people's routines because of their properties. Parabens are antimicrobial preservatives so mold doesn't grow in your products, sulfates are safe to use for product build up way better than the alternatives, alcohol can be used as a binding ingredient and is fine in a rinse off product, silicone helps seal the hair or be used for the slidability and are washable. An ingredient list doesn't reveal how they function in a formulation and the percentages would be harmful if you're using INDUSTRIAL amounts. And their names are actually umbrella terms! Alcohol? Sulfate? Which kind? If anything, consider what ingredients you want for the hair density/porosity/whether chemical or heat treated and also a person's lifestyle, and relative humidity of their area. This isn't to be rude, but having a "NO NEVER USE THIS" mentality wears people down because they don't know the true reason as to why their hair care isn't working for them or will struggle to find affordable products that are "safe". I've had clients come in scared and confused because they fear they what they don't understand after being told their routine that worked great for them is all "wrong".

Silicones are not the devil and not all alcohols are evil. And natural/clean does not mean better. Please spread the word to the masses!

I say that we use what works for OUR hair and stop listening to hair influencers

Silicones and alcohols aren’t your enemy.

Aussie is the only brand that works for me. I have a really wavy almost curly hair. The normal curly products are too heavy for my hair texture. Aussie is just amazing!

That Garnier fructise had my hair growing to my butt as a kid and now as an adult I decided to go back to basics and started using it again and my hair feels the best with it. If your hair is doing fine keep using it, if it’s doing poorly then switch 🤷🏻‍♀️ it’s not that hard.

I use Garnier fructice on my hair and my hair is long healthy, straight, shiny and almost at hip length. Just saying. I think making people feel paranoid about using affordable products is isn't very nice. Maybe some fancy $60 dollar shampoo is "better" but most people can't afford that. As long as you are being gentle with your hair, not over using heat, not dying it, and eating a nutritious diet your hair will be healthy.

Silicones are safe it’s great for wound healing and it’s an occlusive. Alcohol help the product to be more lighter and it penetrates easier

I’ve tried all shampoos on my afro and the garnier one is THE BEST for me. I also use silicones in my conditioners & oils and hair is thriving. I have 3C/4A long afro hair :)

When I experienced hairfall, I did all the following to effectively control it:
Incorporate massage for your scalp into your routine.
Don’t use very hot water when rinsing your hair.
Protect your hair from too much sweat.
Use a dual tooth neem comb to detangle wet hair.
Reduce your sugar and junk food consumption.
Use mild anti hair fall shampoo and hair oil like Littleeextra cocconion.
Nurture a positive mindset for general well being.

I love the Aussie curly mousse, literally a staple in my curly girl routine (it works for all waves and curls🤷🏼‍♀️ so me and my sister can both use)

Silicones art good for your hair some silicones are proven to make your hair so much better. It’s just the drying alcohols that are bad.

Ok but let’s be realistic here those products may not work for her hair but that’s not the case for everyone because every one has different hair and your hair has to accept a product in order for it to work. And I am talking from experience I have 3b hair and it has been a long journey for finding hair products and let me tell u it was a lot of money because some products were either drying my hair, they made my hair sticky and smelly, it weighed down my hair, or I had an allergic reaction to it. So when people review hair products people have to realize it is not scientifically proven that these products don’t work for a lot of people. These reviews are based on there own personal opinions and these reviews are subjective. I use Aussie and the OGX products along with coconut oil products and that is what works for my hair and I have tried shea moisture coconut and hibiscus cream custard and I loved that product but it broke out on my face because I have very sensitive skin so I had to stop using it. So honestly do what is right for you and your hair will thank you for it.
I really just want people to really listen to their hair and most importantly themselves because trust me I have had a really hard time dealing with my hair.

Silicones and sulfates can actually be very beneficial to your hair. Sulfates deeply clean and can be used once a week to get rid of product build up. Silicone coats your hair and makes it shiny. Not your enemies at all.

Silicones are not bad if you use a clarifying shampoo to remove the build up. Do your research.

I have the aussie and it does not contain any sulfates.

We need to remember that there is a huge difference between hair types and the care they need. If you have the kind of straight hair where you might as well use dish soap, of course you're not going to have problems with these products.
