Kolkata Doctor's Rape-Murder: RG Kar Med College Principal Resigns, FORDA Declares National Protest

The principal of RG Kar Medical College & Hospital, Prof. (Dr.) Sandip Ghosh resigned from his position on Monday morning in response to criticism following the rape and killing of a doctor in a government-run hospital. He said that the victim was like to daughter and that he was being falsely accused on social media, and political statements were being made in his name.

According to reports, he said, and I quote, ""Students are being provoked to ensure my removal. I want the accused to be punished. I am being defamed. I have not made such remarks; the girl who died was like my daughter. I am also a parent. As a parent, I am resigning.""
