Hospital services hit across India as Kolkata rape and murder case sparks massive protests

trainee Doctor in Kolkata’s R.G. Kar medical college has sent shockwaves to the entire country. Doctors and medical students have staged a protest against the heinous crime throughout the nation. From Nair Hospital in Mumbai, Govt Medical College & Hospital Nagpur to Patna AIIMS, medical professionals took the streets and extended their indefinite strike demanding justice in the rape and murder case of the trainee doctor. Holding placards pleading for ‘capital punishment’, every voice echoed “we want justice” and “save the saviour”. Students accumulatively demanded for CBI Probe to get to the neck deep into the matter. Medical Professionals from Delhi’s RML hospital staged dharna and demanded justice for the Kolkata doctor. FAIMA (Federation of All India Medical Association) has called for a nationwide shutdown of OPD services from August 13, as a protest against the Doctor’s killing.
