When I was a year 13, my mother was very ill. I was under tremendous stress to complete the final year as well as care for my mother.
My biology teacher would remind me everyday that I was a failure and will never pass the final exam.
I did pass the exam, and can proudly say I am a registered nurse.
Boy I wish I could see her again. The disgust she’d have on her face to know I succeeded in life.

There's a professor in my university she is down right rude to kids use bad language and once she degraded me infront of whole class during my presentation which she didn't even listened...i hope she gets expelled because person like that shouldn't be near students that shatter their confidence and abuses them.

THIS IS SO UNDERRATED!! Unfortunately, ignorance gets in the way of people’s ability to help others grow. Muslims of all people should know that kindness is at the heart of all interactions, especially with children or the vulnerable. InshaAllah our insitutions can change for the better.

In Malcolm X's biography if I can remember he talks about a school teacher and how she discouraged from wanting to become a lawyer she said and I'm paraphrasing "negro boys can't become lawyers" to him something like that, he eventually dropped out of school went to Detroit or Chicago and became a criminal until he went to prison and eventually joined the N.O.I, and after some years eventually embraced Islam.
only Allah knows how his life would have turned out if she only cared enough to encourage him!
It's little things a person can do to encourage or to destroy a child's confidence, we should be very careful.

You are right. my father wanted me to do medical but my teachers scared me so much that they used to say to our whole class that "you people can't be doctors. You don't have skills. It's difficult" and blah blah. It scared me so much that I wasn't able to even give my exams. I will never forgive those teachers for discouraging us

Unfortunately... In my country some islamic schools have very strict punishment to the students... And after they out or graduate from school some of them become bad person like to drunk, play with girl, and others...
