The only reason why the RX-8 is notorious for blowing up is because people build 1, 000+ horsepower engines on a platform made for less. It’s kinda impossible for it to not blow up with a huge 90 mil garret turbo and all sorts of other engine changes. 😂

If you want an Rx8 be prepared to rebuild your engine often
Also the type r in that gen never came to the US but the SI did

Is300 is reliable for beginners and easy to work on but also a good platform to build for enthusiasts

The RX8 just eats oil and people don't keep up with it so that's probably where you get the "don't they blow up"

The problem with these is that they make you expect to Recive what’s in the video, but making your car like that would cost 2 times or more the price of when you bought the car

I was genuinely considering I’m buying a Mazda RX-8

An RX8 its actually a solid and very fun car for anyone considering it I wouldn't recommned it as a first car at all but if you want a fun project car I'd recommend picking a already low compression one on the low then getting the engine rebuilt by someone reputable and you'll have peace of mind about that and you'll have a solid car way under 10k.(Stay away from automatic ones) They get dogged a lot cuz it's the worst rotary but they're actually really fun cars for the money and the maintenance isn't rocket science unless you're a dummy. I've had a lot of fun in mine that was low compression but I was still driving it around

Having a RX-8 is a nightmare, it cheap dosent mean it run cheap
Here all the problems:
1: engine problems
2: power sterring
3: calatyc converters
4: starter
5: shitty shift knob

Bonus: caburator

The type r went up alot si of that get go for like 8k in good condition, the rx8s are dirt cheap but the apex seals go which is basically like a piston ring on the scale of repairs your taking apart the whole engine and rx8s being 2 rotor have 2 apex seals, you can get upgraded ones thatll last but oem ones go bad at around 100k and if you dont do it yourself you could just get a whole engine with lower miles for the same price

Alright gentlemen and ladies I have a rather forgotten contender that everyone seems to overlook the 2000-2007 honda accords are absolute road monsters if you have the 3.0l vtec they not only last a long time they are quite fast and affordable too I own one and have a K&N upgraded air intake and it sounds mean. Highly recommend as a good budget car!!!
