It's been 6 months since I uploaded the Quickest Floor Plan series and a lot has changed in Blender! This is an updated version and it's jampacked with new tools, a streamlined process and great resources so, if you've watched the previous one, there's a LOT of new stuff here! And if you didn't, well, you're watching the latest and greatest.

We'll be looking at the whole process, from modelling to rendering, the whole nine yards!

As a beginner to blender, learning the basics, you have pretty much covered everything that i learned from hours of tutorial. Your efforts and giving more information on the shortcuts every step and elaborating each step is so kind! also, it's so amazing that you provided free resources along with paid sources. I would love if you made a guide on free good resources and materials i can get from. Also how to import/export and present a project for the clients and files extensions everyone should know about while using blender.

I am an experienced interior designer who is trying to switch from software like SketchUp and AutoCAD to Blender. Thank you for the clarity and validity of your explanation that I was looking for. Blender software should improve itself a lot in terms of the beginning of modeling (CAD). Users will increase a lot. Blender developers are not aware. There are add-ons. But they need to improve the net drawing starting from point, line, surface.

Hey great tutorial! I followed along in Blender 4 and can confirm once I started having boolean modifiers active, it crashed a lot.

Im curious if there's anyway to cut the excess floor. So pretty much the floor should only be in the house, I was curious in trying to export to unity and I cant have those extras.

Great tutorial thanks for that. However, I’m confused regarding window faces. If I consider the external element to face outside then how come the window handles facing outside as well? It makes no sense to me. In my country all window handles facing inside. Any advise?

Would it not be easier to turn on measurements, create a 1.5m wall for example and then line the floor plan image (1.5m part) up with the wall?

When adding doors to the 'Boolean' collection they continue to be hidden inside of the walls. I have ensured the 'Boolean Modifier' in 'Walls' is set to Difference / Collection / Boolean / Exact and it sits under the Solidify modifier created earlier.

I have also made sure to select the correct part of the doors to 'M'ove to the Boolean collection.

I am unsure how to proceed now.

Great tutorial! However, I ran into some issues with the windows. I tried assigning different colors to each room, but it didn’t work for rooms that share a wall. My approach was to outline each room and the exterior walls, then extrude them one by one. The doors worked fine, but when I added the windows and included them in the boolean collection, they became distorted, they had become boxes. Could you help me figure this out?

while laying out the outline, with absolute snap to grid on, i made accurate outline of the walls, and it showed so on the top left of corner where the distance (x, y, z) (total) is given but when i measure it with the edge measurement, it gives inaccurate measurement equal to one third of what i actually layyed down while inputting the measurements. it also gives the same inaccurate measurement in the transform tab.

I’m on a MacBook, the alt+lmb doesn’t work (option+lmb) to get the selection menu - do you know what it would be on Mac by any chance? ☺️
