I feel like you should have contacted the kindergartners mom, then asked the parents to have a conference with the principal or something. Cause if someone’s kid was smacking my child, I would be infuriated.

I am so thankful that I don't have parents like that for my students!! The nice thing about doing a special needs run is that parents are very cooperative and are (in my experience) great to work with. That may change one day, but for now, I am very thankful for great parents.
