Hate shin pads? This is the way - In today's review of the G-Form Pro-S Elite X, JayMike takes a closer look at the unique shin pads in the market that are made of foam to explain how foam can be both protective and feel like you're wearing nothing at all. The new G-Form Pro-S Elite X shin pads sit on a new and reinforced compression sleeve meaning that all movement is eliminated and that the shin pads stay in place without using sock tape shin pad holders. Everything sounds perfect, but... there's something that shocked us... the price. - Check this review and discover what JayMike thinks about the new G-Form Pro-S Elite X shin pads.

I hate the regular shin pads because they distract me from playing and running. I have to use some tapes to rap around it and still loose. When I try the G-Form shin pads, I feel like I didn't wear them at all. I don't even use tapes to rap them (I have ones with no sleeves attached but they provide the sleeves separately inside the package you buy). For the protection, I honestly think that if the regular shin pads protect 100% of the impact, these G-Form shin pads protect 95%. Overall, I think it's worth for you to have a pair (1st gen not this crazy expensive Elite X).

I have some of their earlier models and theyre definitely the best shinguard I've had as a keeper. I used to wear some pretty old adidas ones where the shinguard was stitched to the sleeve but I usually had to add tape to keep them in place, but these stay in place really well on their own and even more if combined with tight socks.

Jay, this is all well and good but please please please do a video on ankle slips. Everyone wants to do grip socks and sleeves but this leaves little to no protection for the ankles. I know you recommended the Nike Hyperstrong Strike before in a super old video but its never available anymore. Can you let us know of any newer slim alternatives that are comfortable?

I use this brand of shinpads. If you're not splashing for expensive carbon fiber pads, G-Form is one of the next best options.

- The harden-on-impact tech gimmick actually works. I haven't experienced a painful shin knock in over a year of play.
- You don't need to pay more for the version that is sown into a spandex sleeve -- the cheapest version of the pads protects just as well as the most expensive version.
- These pads aren't very long, so if you want as much coverage as possible, get at least a size Large (XL has the same length as L).
- This new, super expensive version of the pads is a waste of money -- you're paying over a 100 euros for that luxury sleeve, and practically nothing else. The cheapest G-Form shinpad with no sown-on sleeve uses hardening foam that performs just as well.
- G-Form is available from US retailers for cheaper than Unisport.

I have an old version that’s still good. But I mostly wear my C6 Agility carbon fiber shin guards.

I've used a similar technology in mountain biking. It's awesome. I'm going to look into a pair for my daughter and me.

The G forms honestly don’t work that well. It may harden on impact but the rest of the guard doesn’t so the point of impact still gets hit much harder. It’s almost worse that it hardens in a way because the point of impact is what gets driven into your shin while the rest of it remains soft if that makes sense. A normal shin guard is made of hard plastic that spreads across the entire surface area of the guard when it gets hit. They are extremely comfortable and I wanted them to work well but they just don’t. I’ve even had times where my shin has gotten hit by a striked ball and it still hurt even with these on.

Can you make a video on turf (tf) boots? There is literally no video from good channels on youtube on these boots. I want to use them on tf fields and sometimes in the summer, when the sun dried out all the grass. The normal fg are way too hard for dried fg pitches

I’ll just keep with the originals. I just wanted a shin pad that doesn’t move with minimal effort 😂.
