Ive been welding since 1852, i have 67 certifications in underwater, upsidedown, blind single handed welding. I forgot what i was going to say, I just wanted to let everyone know how much experience I had. Oh now I remember, thats a bad weld.

Ever since i discovered JB weld....it fixes tractor axles...i make my own I beams..i weld concrete tilt ups together .. build sea walls...and lengthen my drive lines....good stuff

That shit is cold as hell. Just sitting on top. No penetration and I haven't welded in years

As a certified carpenter with 30 years experience i agree that machine welds better than most people. As a carpenter i would know!

Tests show laser welding has low depth of penetration, so the welds are not strong, but they look nice. This is thick material, so depth of penetration is VERY important, but for thin material, it works well

I have never welded anything in my life and can finally confirm more than any of these other people, that is a perfect weld because it’s got just the right amount of Ying, without having applied too much Yang.

That material is basically sitting atop the metal you “assume” is being bonded together. A good hammer blow will make quick work of that weld.

Laser welding is definitely a different beast from arc welding that most people are used too because the laser is such a high energy density process. But that really looks like it’s getting almost no penetration into the base metal I’d be amazed if this is actually a sound weld.
