Of all the hours I’ve spent listening to Eric interview people this is my favorite. Dr Peterson is brilliant. Eric is able to keep up with him and to ask for more of Dr Peterson than others. And Eric’s smile of real affection as he has to close out the podcast tells so much. Thank you Dr Peterson for all you do and Eric for bringing us this treasure. To God be the Glory.

While some accuse Jordan of over complicating I’d say society has dumbed down everything. He has a knack for showing how complex the most important subjects really are.

Started listening to Dr Peterson 9 years ago. He changed my life and helped turn it around. I lived a fun, free, and liberal life. One day I woke up and realized my life leads to nowhere. Despite my education and a career. Now I m a caregiver to my post stroke husband and experience great fulfillment.

"You dont get to question the moral order, no matter what happens to you."

I needed to hear this. Thank you, Dr. Peterson. I lost a part of my faith after losing my job. Then i lost my government funding after losing my job. Ive been miserable for 2 months feeling sorry for myself, and my family has had to pick up the pieces. Ive been bitter because I was the victim of someone elses lies and they were rewarded. I need to get my ass back out there and figure it out.

Thank you.

Real morality as I know it is no longer taught in most churches. I'm a woman of color born in 1956 and was taught respect to leaders and adults. Church is hard for me because I am an Warrioring angel with little tolerance for coddling grown men, especially. Nobody really walks with me because I worked damn hard to pay off my condo!! I give no money to wasteless organizations..I just learned to do better with my income. Again thank you Mr. Peterson.

Great Interview! I was literally watching the video progress bar around the 35:00 mark and thinking, oh geez how are they going to finish this conversation in 15 minutes! I found myself wanting a part 2! Both of you gentlemen are fascinating to listen to. Well done and thank you! 👏

“Faith is necessary because you have to step forward into the unknown.”

This was a wonderful discussion on faith. I read Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy, by Eric Metaxas
It will leave you with a profound notion of what faith looks like, it was hard to keep reading the book when you know how it’s going to end. Maybe because I am a mother and have a son, I sobbed starting around page 5 or 6…but I pushed thru. I was astounded by Bonhoeffer’s parents religious faith also. If I was his mother, I would have kidnapped him until the war was over, I am still traumatized by that story. Listening to Dr. Peterson and Eric Metaxas discuss the Christian religion was wonderful, hopefully they will do this again.

I love both this conversation and the one they had on Peterson’s podcast.

One of the stumbling blocks for Peterson right now is that he takes the Bible and filters it through other systems of thought as opposed to primarily judging those systems, especially Jungian archetypology, by the Scriptures.

“Our fundamental mode of being is relational”. Great truth.

Eric, thank you for pressing Jordan on spiritual fundamentals. He needs to hear it more often and my prayer is that he makes that final connection one day.

My favorite thread in the Book of Job is that in the conclusion, God invites Job to a conversation. Outstanding!

I was extremely hurt when I was taught by Keith Moore and Kenneth Hagin that if I prayed enough I could receive healing and it didn’t happen. Same was when I had to watch my father die from cancer. It was a terrible ordeal to be convinced that if my family prayed for my Dad, Jesus would fix his ailment. Seeing my dad die was awful; living through my worldview shattering has been something that has nearly undone me… it’s been five years.

He is a practical person who is searching with all is heartto find God. His journey is more pure bcuz its not conformed to religious bias or propaganda. U can c tht he is in deep search for the truth which is all tht God asks us to do. Kno who u are following. He still needs to get there as do I. Metaxas was so patient and gracious.
He tried to share the reality of demons, etc, and Peterson still sees the Biblical truths as "ideas", metaphors or archetypes. I believe Peterson will get there. It's evident he truly is wrestling with what is The Truth.
Bravo! Mr Metaxas!!
Peterson calls his new tour, " Those who wrestle with God" However, when Jacob wrestled with God, he already knew God personally. My belief is that is exactly how he had the boldness to dare to wrestle with Him in the first place. He knew God, and had great belief and trust to know that he could (even) have the audacity to say,
"I won't let you go until you bless me".
Jacob's name, (Identily), was changed through the encounter, from Jacob, (deciever), to Israel, (He will rule as God" in Hebrew.
The study of the Greek, Aramaic and Hebrew are imperative if we want to know the truth for ourselves.
Check out The Strongs, or Vines exhaustive concordance. .
It'sfascinating, and illuminating.

I love these types of conversations. I feel compassion for JP. He is so brilliant on so many levels which I think may get in his way of simply accepting Christ and God's truth as literal truth. I applaud Eric for trying to get him there. When Eric pointed out that God is a person, that we can know Him, that others like Moses have known Him on a personal level I was hoping it would break JP out of his whole conceptual idea mode. For many years the simplicity of what it took to become a Christian always got in my way. It made no sense to my human logic. I knew I was guilty of many sins, not just actions but thought & words; all of which I could never take back. I knew there was no balancing the scales of eternal justice. It made no sense to me that God sent Jesus to die in my place; that by choosing to repent & accept by faith that I needed Him as my Savior & Lord I could be saved, delivered, transformed. Once I did I was convinced. I hope & pray that JP & others like him do the same.

Been watching JP since back in his classroom videos. He sees the good within the Christian faith for people. He has come out and said he won't give anyone control of his tongue. This makes me believe what's keeping him from God is pride and a unwillingness to submit. Although i am making assumptions. Wrestle with God, but know you can't win and become humbled to submission.

It wasn’t just the pill. It was the acceptance of evolution into main stream thinking and education.
