I'm a retired film rerecording mixer - started back before there was any automation --- nothing, nada . Mixed mostly on the Neve DFC ( digital film console ) and later on Euphonics and Protools . We film mixers ride the faders like demons and I've noticed that music mixers usually leave the faders alone and do things " wide swath " with plug ins . I usually used an 1EQ, 1 compressor ( Waves R Comp ) and the Lexicon 480 reverb . The real stuff happens with the faders . Thanks for showing how you work and sharing some of your tips .

amazing content, the difference its that sometimes home studios like my case we dont have that quality sound in microphones and preamps so we need more tricks to get something closer to this result.

I struggle sometimes with wondering if I cut too much midrange from the vocal. Seeing this man cut 1 db, dynamic cut 2b, to then ssl eq cut another 6db of the low mids made me feel at ease😂🎉
