KARRA, something has been bugging me for the longest time. Perhaps you can shed some light on this subject. Have you ever noticed how on live shows, the singer is using a dynamic mic and sounds every bit as good as the recording. Yet, in the studio, we have condensor mics and all these plugins. I am desperately trying to build my studio template to be as simple as possible. I really don't want the mix down session to stress me out like it has been lately.

I would recommend RX on your voiceover vocals. Mouth'ticks' n 'smacks' are really loud. Sounds asmr'ish.

Destroying the signal with and over compression 😏stop making music and go back to music school.. the industry has a lot of such crappy tutorials😏

You are way too close for voice over. Use less compression too. Not a great advert for your engineering. Edit: de-essing usually gets applied before compression and EQ.
