Women with THIN FINE hair LOVE this Haircut (I can see why!)

Females with less volume often struggle with areas of thinning and are unable to pump up the volume in their strands. This haircut tutorial is intended to help YOU as a client talk to your hairdresser about what you want out of your haircuts. This short bob hairstyle provides thin hair women with a strong baseline, excellent styling capability and tons of versatility. This easy female cut is one of the hairstyles that made me feel absolutely amazing after my hair transplant surgery.

Your detailed description is perfect. I've had thin, fine hair my entire life. I have expressed to my stylist that I don't want any layering, strictly a blunt cut, all one length with a slight angle on the sides and a slight undercut. She absolutely argued up a storm and said, "I don't do that kind of blunt cut" so I answered, "well, I won't be having you cut my hair today." Now I'm hunting for a good hairdresser who, I hope, will watch this video before I let him/her touch my hair. Thank you so much for your video.

Almost every stylist I’ve ever gone to seems to get offended if I ask for a blunt cut. They always want to do lots of layers and I don’t have a lot of hair to do layers in… So thank you for reinforcing what I already knew was the right thing to do.

While I take extremely good care of my hair, and it’s super healthy, I’ve noticed that it’s thinning more and more due to hormonal issues. This video popped up randomly in my suggestions yesterday. I showed my husband the video and I broke down and let him cut my hair. He ended up cutting off over 12” and I may have had a moment or two where I was wondering what possessed me to let him take scissors to my hair. But I’m happy to say I now have a super cute cut and my thinning hair doesn’t look so thin. This cut literally breathed new life into my hair! So thank you, thank you, thank you for making such a great video that even a husband that’s a complete amateur could follow with success.

I did just this, cut a straight line, and my hair feels great. Ive received so many nice comments since I cut it. Love it!

You are so right on. I've had long hair my entire life because it is so fine and thin that I cannot do anything with it. I have it cut blunt. They kind of look at me like I'm in the 1990s but I have to wear what works for me. No texturizing. Just blunt. It's about three inches below my collar bone. It has worked really well for me. Thank you for all of your tips. I totally agree with you on the blunt cut!

This video is so helpful and I am going to try this out with my hairstylist! Here are the key notes:

- blunt chin-length bob
- part in the middle
- slight under cut at the back
- slight angle forward
- no point cut, no layers at all (all blunt)

Christopher Hopkins, the Makeoverguy who does amazing transformations with mostly older women uses this cut a lot. Really brings back the body to thinning hair.
I need to go get mine cut like this. I hate how thin it has become after menopause. Last night I had a nightmare that I was completely bald on top, like an old man! I woke up in tears, but was relieved to find it wasn't that bad!

Oh my godddd!!!...You understand the fact the point-cutting reduces the volume for thin hair 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I want to
Told this to hundreds of hairdressers literally....explaining them for 1/2 before they start....and they always snap back that more layers introduce more volume!!!
I have always ended up with no hair...they just leave a thin tail on my entire head combined 😭😭😭😭

Thank you for sharing the slight undercut trick. I’m a cosmo student & bobs are in my top 3 fav cuts to do, & I have a handful of regular clients with bobs who are going to love this.

Gabi, what about with curly fine hair? Could you do one for curly hair? Thanks.

Love this - this style is exactly what I've looked for - for literally decades. I have carefully written down instructions for hair dressers very similar to what is offered in the video. I have brought and shown pictures of bobs just like this. I have carefully explained my "difficult" hair - over and over and OVER. "Rinse repeat" every darn time without ever actually getting the cut I want and the cut my fine thin hair truly needs because most hairdressers just do not listen to or respect what the customer wants, IMO. They decide what THEY think you "need." Then to disguise a poor haircut, or one which does not even ballpark resemble what you have asked for/written down for no possible confusion on their part/provided photos of - they then pressure you to buy expensive hair products to use to "make the style happen." The last time this happened to me, the $200 cut was lopsided and literally 1/2 inch "holes" had been cut in my hair so that several cowlicks stood straight up while some shoulder-length hair remained. I left the salon in tears then next day drove 130 miles to a toprated salon in the nearest mega-city and got the shortest pixie available. I still trim it myself (no more 130 mile/260 rt with gas prices so high) and call it my "pandemic pixie." At least the cowlicks no longer look out of place! Every hair tutorial by every YouTube beauty advisor needs advice on how to deal with hairdressers that refuse to give you the cut you want or worse give you what they "think looks good" but never does! (Followed by really good advice about growing out a pandemic pixie without resorting to scarves or wigs.)

I actually asked for this haircut last time I had my hair done not knowing that it would help my fine hair look thicker. But I have gotten sooo many compliments! I'm going to keep this style for a long time. Thanks for the video!

Due to trauma, i have lost at least 50% of my hair volume in the past 2-3 months. I’ve had shorter haircuts before and I’m feeling that a shorter cut is due now that my hair has thinned so much. Besides looking better, seeing less volume of hair in the brush/shower/etc. will be less traumatizing. Thank you for this wonderful video giving us all the details of what to ask for. This is the style I wanted and you and your client show it off beautifully and will give me something (along with your advice) to show a new-to-me stylist. Thank you! ❤ Any chance you’re near NH? I’d love to come to you!

Thank you so much!!!! This is exactly what I always ask for but not always get. The worst thing is when I ask for this exact way of getting my hair cut and it looks perfect, only for the hair dresser to point cut in the last few seconds because they just can't resist doing it, and I walk out feeling like I have thin ratty awkward strands for hair while just minutes before that it looked full. I am saving this video so that I can write down the exact things to emphasise to a hairdresser, or even to show them some parts of this video if the salon is quiet/empty enough and not busy. Have a blessed 2024! XXX

Thank you for this. I have had baby fine hair all my life and I have found that people who think they have fine hair don't, and I have found that even seasoned stylists have no idea what to do with fine hair.
