Juatin, I really appreciate your respect for mental health and the understanding of how closely tied that is with the appearance of a woman’s hair. You’re a good man, Charlie Brown.

I think I just need to buy a plane ticket to get my hair cut by Justin. He is educated, experienced, and he just gets it.

“You deserve to feel good about you hair everyday” Thank you! ❤
I’m so tired of hearing from other influencers their rules about how not to live life when it comes to our hair ( heat and products are the devil 🙄).

Thank you for this. I constantly feel bad or guilty for using heat on my hair but when I air dry it doesn’t look good. Also have this same feeling if I have to wash more than twice a week. Glad to have your common sense advice 😊

I wash my hair every day. My head feels dirty if I don’t.

Thanks for a great video honestly breaking down all of the “noise” we are subjected to. At 72 years young, my hair has definitely thinned out and changed. Only takes me about 1/2 the time to blow dry than it used to. I had previously heard that the volumizing products often dry out hair and clog pores. Glad you reaffirmed this. I will definitely check out those products you recommend. Love your channel, your knowledge and your honesty. Be well!

I have long curly hair that is also fairly thin, which is masked by the optical illusion of the curls. I have been trying over the last 1-2 years to improve my hair thickness and get it to grow longer( faster than I have to trim the ends, lol) and have had great success with collagen and glucosamine/ chondroitin supplements and the baking soda scrubs I do 1 or 2 times a month! I just keep a little jar of baking soda by the shower, grab some in one hand and shampoo in the other, mash them together and wash my hair with it! Be careful on the ends where it's fragile or skip them. Concentrate on the scalp, exfoliating the scalp will absolutely encourage new hair growth because you're unblocking the follicle. I didn't realize how powerful this really was until one of my clients( I'm a dog groomer) started essentially exfoliating her Pom with a slicker brush every day, and all the hair she'd lost( which was MOST of it😳) ALL GREW BACK!!!! In 3 months! I was STUNNED! Groomers see double coated breeds all the time that never grow hair back right after being shaved or get patchy n thin as they age, and there's never been a solution for this, even from the vets- well hallelujah, THAT was the solution! Exfoliation!!! Getting all that dead skin, dirt, oil, etc off the hair follicles and the the hair starts growing! So I started exfoliating with the baking soda( which my hair dresser had suggested to pull the product buildup off my hair) and I saw a HUGE difference! After 6 months, my hair had grown 3 times the rate that it had been growing! You just have to be diligent after the baking soda wash and shampoo it a couple times with a moisturizing shampoo and use a really good conditioner ( I use Its a 10 Mask) because the baking soda will dry it out. The other thing that works wonders is coconut oil! Again, I had a client with a poodle that lost ALL his hair down BOTH sides of his body- I mean BALD! She dpent a couple grand at 4 different vets and he was still bald. This was over about 1-2 years. Then she decided to start giving him coconut oil( feeding) and rubbing it into his skin, like a hot oil treatment. Not only did all his hair grow back, it was 3 times as thick as the rest of it and DARK! He was a chocolate color, but super faded from age, but the new growth was REALLY deep chocolate!!! It was crazy how well it worked! I had my 80 year old mom start doing it and it helped her too!😂❤❤❤

*Volumizing Shampoo & Hard Water* . I used volumizing shampoos under very hard water conditions for years, the combo wreaked absolute havoc on my hair. My mids and ends were dry, dull and breakage prone. Adding a shower filter and switching to professional shampoo and conditioner has made a huge difference. I wear my hair wavy and typically only diffuse at the roots.

Whoa! You touched on curly. YAY! And oddly, I've lingered with fine/thin hair as to completely dry to let the last 20% air dry. Thank you for mentioning curly to 100% dry. And I can't wait to see what you are developing

When you have thin fine hair, you have to use heat on it, or you'll be wondering why everybody's hair looks better than yours. I'm a model in NYC who did no heat for 3 years. I looked frizzy, unkempt and a mess, until I finally used heat on my hair at the end of the 3 years and finally looked put together again. All 3 years did nothing to heal my hair, it genuinely looked so much worse without heat styling.

Great timing of this video! With my thin/fine hair I usually start to dry with high heat switching to medium on the more fragile front. But yesterday, forgot to switch, the front dried super fast and held style surprisingly well. Thanks for advice that is is okay to continue to style with high heat😊

Great advice! I have naturally curly fine hair. Since I've been retired and do very little to my hair, only washing once a week, the condition is very good. I don't use a lot of product and only really style my hair maybe once a week. I straightened my hair for the first time in over a year and was amazed how good it looked. I used liquid minoxidil for over 20 years and it worked well, but it made my hair very dry. Now I use oral minoxidil and my hair has grown almost 6 inches in 8 months. I'm almost 65 and I have the hair of someone in their 30's. Plus I have a good diet putting collagen and lots of protein in my morning smoothie. Thanks for the great tips!

I personally could never get a strong enough curl with a hot iron, it would always lose curl in a couple hours. But I do get great results with overnight heatless curls. They last for days. And recently been using big sexy hair powder play. Game changer! Love the volume and soaks up oils and sweat so I can go a few more days between washes. Also light light lightly oiling the ends after styling polishes off the style.

My hair is fine and thin and if I don’t wash my hair every other day, my scalp gets itchy and my hair starts to shed. I also need heat to make sure the structure of my frizzy, slightly kinky hair lays smoothly. My hair is not being damaged more from using heat tools! Whoever made up this myth never studied hair structure and never quantified what temp was actually going to destroy fine hair. Using a moderate heat, I get the results I need! Don’t be afraid to use heat! Use a heat protector and lower heat and I promise you’ll get the looks you want!
This has been intuitive to me and I’m so happy someone is on here saying it!!!!

I’m 65. Used to have extremely thick, coarse, curly hair. It has thinned but is still coarse and curly. I fell into the heat-is-bad-for-my-thin-hair thinking, until a stylist I found 4 years ago told me with my hair texture, I need to use a flat iron on maximum heat. She was right! When I leave the salon after a cut, my hair is so shiny with lots of movement. She would finish my hair with a flat iron on maximum heat. When I adopted this practice, my hair is so soft and shiny, with lots of movement. My style also lasts, which means I’m only using my flat iron once or twice a week. The heat is required to seal the cuticle.

My hair is thin, fine and still oily, even at 73! I can’t stand the feeling if I don’t wash my hair every day. I have a short style, use mousse, and blow dry on low..
It doesn’t take very long. And I use hairspray because there is no way it stays in any kind of style without it. It’s a pain…
