Yeah, I hate to disagree but this thing was all over the map. The number of false positives was WAY too high to be acceptable in my opinion. Ryobi needs to refund anyone who purchased this model or send em a revamped one that works. As is, its completely unreliable.

Read the back of the stud finder it actually says " use both or one " on button! So it can be used with holding once button

AC detector constantly lit up and often ALL the lights stayed on as I moved the device across the wall. Much falsing.

I thought all the lights were able to show where a stud is, turns out it's only the middle three that show the stud. The other lights are there to tell you how far away from the center of the stud you are getting. I was so lost and all that was doing was getting me confused and frustrated. I felt like Chris Tucker on The Fifth Element "I think mine is broken. Why I gotta get the broke one?"

Ryobi has listened - now clearly states on the device one or two handed use.

2 things, 1) it doesn't require 2 hands, it's just important to hold it flat to the wall, and that's easier with two hands, and 2) you gotta be kidding me, that was not a textured wall.

Nice video, but read the manual it can be operated with one hand.

Great review. I think a great solution to that dual button "issue" would be to glue a plastic stick between both buttons. That way i could press the middle and use it with one hand. (Hopefully) 😁

Well I guess my wall is made of 90% nails or AC wire, that little AC detection light sometimes flashes off, but is on almost all the time. I've had some cheap stud finders, this one was not cheap, but works even worse. I used it on drywall, the point it said I was centered on a stud was actually about 6 inches off.

You don't have to hold down both buttons. You can pick either one = one handed use.
