How to Use a Stud Finder

I show how to use the most common type of stud finder.
The stud finder is sensing the density of the surface below it and letting you know when you run into a stud or joist. Most stud finders are designed to find the edge of the stud. You mark both sides of the stud with the stud finder then measure for the center.
