Once that piano was tuned, the notes just Flowed like a River!

Untuned pianos sound eerie and have a amazing creepy vibe that is perfect

for some reason, I love the slightly detuned pianos. They produce such a unique sound

I wanted a piano so bad, but my parents knew it would be very expensive. Then, my lovely piano teacher told us, that we could get a free piano.
So we got this 90 year old, lovely black piano, an expert looked over it and said that is was amazing. We got it tuned and also got some other stuff done and now I have an amazing piano with such a great story. Also, the whole thing was way cheaper than getting a knew one. It sounds so awesome and I absolutely love it.

I love these videos, but my favorite part is at the end, when you play a beautiful tune in the out of tune and then in tune keys, majestically demonstrating the difference. ❤

Always get a free piano. You can always decide later it's not worth fixing, and you don't wanna drop your good piano on Daffy Duck.

to be honest, if a piano is free and depending if its rare or not, you could still get it, gut it and use it as a fancy desk

Edit: for those saying its atrocious, I hear you. I love music and my father has been a pianist since he was 12, I have a great appreciation for music and the instruments it is made with. This idea is an absolute last resort for the pianos that are either unbranded, extremely common or those that need nearly everything replaced. I hate when things go to waste especially something as beautiful as a standing piano.

I love the sound of untuned pianos because the way the notes echo and overlap to me always sounds beautiful

The song is called ‘River Flows in You’ by Yiruma. It was my childhood lullaby ❤

When I was a kid, my parents got a free piano. We got it checked, and the lady was impressed by the sound of it. It didn’t need to be tuned, but we also got it from an old couple, who were really nice

I swear that's the only song people ever play when demonstrating a piano

“Can you guess the song!?”

“No, I have never heard the most overplayed piano song of all time… 😏”

So I guess I lucked out when I dragged that piano I found in the street home. It seems to be in good shape hopefully. Still need to find someone who can tune it because one octave is radically wrong.

As long as you won’t make it any worse take the free piano and store it somewhere safe if you won’t restore it because someone will. We should take care of these older pianos, they’ll be treasures someday I think

Holy crap that's the exact same kind of piano I grew up with! It was my great grandmother's and I've never seen anyone else with it!

I'm always fascinated by how you can disassemble these forlorn pianos and spark new life into them. I rebuilt a V6 engine once but, I still don't think I could do what you do. I would think that hearing the end product of your labors would be the most satisfying part of your job, though. :)
