What did I miss? And other big mistakes that I neglected to mention?

You touched on this but I wanted to REALLY emphasize the organization and cleanliness of a home gym. Nothing kills your motivation more than tripping over gym equipment or having to move random garbage, that’s not exercise related, to perform basic lifts, exercises, etc... It is really nice opening the door leading to my garage, setup my music, and get started moving weight. Thank you for a great video.

One of the best decisions of my life was building a home gym. I can train whenever I want, I hear music that I want, I need not to wait for someone, I dont need to drive to the gym, everythings perfect.

My big thing I have to don’t neglect the “vibe”. Trying to work out in a bare empty beige color garage is no fun. Spent the extra money and time and paint the walls, get good solid mats, and lighting. Just that alone will make it feel like a gym and be nice to go workout in.

You got a thumbs up just for the "The internet is a scary place and those are bad people" comment and the subscribe because of the great advice. Thanks!

Thanks for your content. Had little money, so I bought a yellow half rack used. The paint was chipped up with a red bench that looked the same. Steel weights that were blue and chipped up. This screamed hard core every time I looked at it and was a great motivator for me.

There's a study somewhere I saw to the effect that most home gyms are never used.

When I was a kid, one of my uncles had a set of barbells and dumbbells I used to trip over when I went to play with my cousin. Apparently they were never used, because they collected dust in a corner on a staircase. Aside from the tripping hazard, I'd have never noticed them.

Trading. I traded an extra pair of 25s for 70lbs of dumbbell weight because I had no use for them.

Very valid point about home gym folks off loading items purchased during the early stages of the pandemic.

That's the one thing that I'm worried about, motivation to train in my basement. I ordered a bunch of training gear and I've now taken the leap. Tired of all the lockdowns. Here in Ontario, Canada, we're experiencing our third lockdown.

Idk why but you remind me a lot of Paul Harrel, maybe the hand gestures. Anyways I just found you the other day and I think you're doing a great job with the videos! Just enough humor, not ranty, you can tell you actually have an idea of what you're doing. Keep it up, man!

I got rid of the Viking handle, GHD and plate loaded cable attachment. Wasted a lot of money but lessons learned
