There are recordings of Russian troops complaining about being bombed and shelled by their own side. At least one was complaining of their own artillery randomly shelling various points and noting that if it is the Ukrainians they don't mess about as they come in, shell the Russians and then leave.

I knew the Russian army was in a shocking state, but for them to be conducting a blue-on-blue (or red-on-red) with both parties being a mere dozen meters away from one another, while in plain view in a noisy boat for all that time and probably belonging to the same or at worst a neighbouring unit in their own controlled territory during the middle of the day, is jaw-droppingly bad.
