What's up, folks! I'm back with another Cyndi Lauper reaction, and wow, have we got a special one this time. If you haven't heard this, I won't spoil anything, other than to say get ready to hear Cyndi as I had never heard her before. Damn.

I remember when "The World Is Stone" was released I bought the 7" single which has "Learn To Live Alone" on its B-side. It was so different to everything I had heard from Cyndi, and I have loved it ever since ... once I got used to that strange beat that seems so off at times but then fits in perfectly. The CD single had two older songs as B-sides, and it took me years to finally find a CD single with this song. Many years later I saw that I could have bought the TYCOON OST right away.
Within the last 20 years Cyndi has released albums from different musical genres, blues, standards, dance, country ... but none of these later recordings match the perfection of "Learn To Live Alone" (according to my taste, ofc). Usually I am not into much brass or jazz or bluesy guitars, but this is a big exception.

I applaud you for bringing attention to so many non-single tracks by artists. Most people pick only the biggest, best-known tracks. I'm just sorry I didn't find your page years ago. Good stuff.

I really enjoy your channel. As a long-time multi-genre Dj here as well and also a fan of Cyndi's vocal styling. Cyndi can tackle any music genre and is perhaps one of the most underrated vocalists. Her chameleon-like talent matches my ever-changing and growing musical taste and perhaps that is why you are digging her evolution. Oh man, can't wait until you get to her standard jazz and also her excellent blues album or her dance album. What a gift she is to music lovers like you and I. Thanks again for all of this.

Real good. Music for grown-ups. Seems like the girl who wanted to have fun had her fun and decided she was better off on her own. Love the superior varied instrumentation with the world-weary jazzy vibe. Marlene Dietrich all over again. Solid playlist ...

She didn't write it, but she does give it that '40s torch song vibe.
