What's cracking, people! I'm back with another Cyndi Lauper reaction from her 1986 album True Colors, and wow, this was a really cool tune sonically even if I couldn't piece together the lyrics clearly. But seriously, the atmosphere in this one---especially in the instrumental interlude after the choruses before the next verse---is amazing, so join me for a really intriguing and sonically pleasing tune from Cyndi. Cheers!

A fan favorite in the 'deep cut' catagory. I like it because it's *dramatic*, also how it expresses the desire and drive behind her work.

Honestly never thought much of this one but your enthusiasm has made me appreciate it more.

Matt you are so right it does sound like Burning Down The House at the beginning. I never thought of that but after you said it. I hear it.👍

I knew you would like this track. One of the criticisms of Cyndi's albums is that no two tracks sound alike and so the reviewer has a hard time categorizing her albums in general. I think it's great that no two tracks sound alike; why have an album of songs with all the same sound. Next in the journey; either the off shoot single Hole in My Heart which was for the movie Vibes and was originally going to be on 3rd album but was eventually removed from final track listing. Or just go to album #3: A Night To Remember from 1989.

What a great album closer.
Next up in the folder is the B-side of the "True Colors" single, "Heading For The Moon". 🌙
