The reason that Russia hasn't been able to make alot of T14s is because they are focusing on modernizing older tanks and producing other great tanks like the t90m. In war you have to do what you can and what you know works

Russia hasn't made 20.

Only the original seven prototypes were made, and it appears that at least 3, perhaps 4, were converted to T-15 and T-16 prototypes. No more than three have been pictured together since 2018, and only two of the three scheduled were the 2022 Victory Day parade.

This video shows a single T-14 at a training facility that has long been claimed to be location of acceptance trials. Rather than suggesting the T-14 is closer to production, a lone tank with the gun stabilization still not working is another indication that it is a museum oddity. There certainly isn't a squad of them being put through field trials.

someone said their aim with T-14 may not meant to have huge number of them to replace other old tanks like T-72.as they say it will be the main tank that coordinate other low tech tanks in a battle.it makes sense because T-14 has all the cool gadgets and data link and other communication devices older tanks doesn't have . it is wise to use few expensive modern tanks mix with older tanks than sending shiny all modern tanks to the battlefield and getting them all destroyed at once because there is no perfect tank that can withstand artiilary or modern antitank missiles

I don't understand how it can be a good tank if the gunner and commander sit in front next to the driver instead of the turret. Imagine how limited your field of view is. You can't pop your head out to take a look. You fully have to rely on cameras and optics but what if they get dirty?

You know I really like T14 Armata no lie and it is intersting design

Not that we completely know, but I've heard the t14 isn't really all that good. Most of what russia was saying is prototype isn't actually. It's been used in other tanks. Visibility is poor. And the engine is a revised tiger, and thought we're known to break down frequently.

"On paper" means nothing.
On the battlefield is where you really find out if you want to "mass produce" it.
Look no further than the Leopard. That tank was supposed to be one of the best tanks in the world too.
It was, until goat herders made a mockery of it😅
