The fact that any person proven to be innocent can still be executed directly endangers ALL of our right to be innocent until proven guilty. This is absolutely unacceptable and the people responsible for his execution need to be held accountable for infringing on our constitutional rights!

Nope sorry. When you are found with the victims belongings you are NOT innocent.

Nice spun job NPR. The man literally got pulled over with the ladies purse and laptop and confessed. Guilty as sin

No one thinks he was innocent. No one.

If prosecutors believed that he was innocent why did they prosecute him

One thing i don't think people in here really realize is that Missouri is notorious for this. We've had cities and countries where they've found people were innocent and there was prosecutorial misconduct and bullying to witnesses to say what they wanted. Child have been busted for this and judges and prosecutors, sometimes they wouldn't let the people back out without going through hell even when it was proven they were incident. I think in Columbia they even made people with papers saying they wouldn't sue. And anyone who didn't believe me go to Netflix and other services there are plenty of documentaries on such cases

PROSECUTORS EXECUTE A MAN THEY BELIEVED WAS INNOCENT? WHY DID THEY FIGHT TO MAKE HIM APPEAR GUILTY THEN? ISNT IT THEY WHO BUILT THE CASE AGAINST HIM?

WTF. If there’s any question of guilt or innocence you can’t execute. 1 innocent man is too many.

This man was executed despite being innocent, and we're expected to trust the system!? That's total bull and just shows me I'm right in believing the govt doesn't care about its people. Make it make sense

The state of Misery is really living up to its name.

WHY is it a SUPRISE to find that the MURDER WEAPON doesn't have any of THE SUSPECTS blood on it??

And HOW is it that this becomes a factor to prove innocence.

Check it thoroughly and find the truth, if he was guilty, so be it but if he was not, you all have to answer to your conscience.

I mean his girlfriend said he admitted the murder to her, HE bragged about the murder... why leave that out, as well as the other details for why he is absolutely guilty. He burning in hell now baby

A headline that refers to a Missouri execution, but goes on to talk about Hezbollah, is a manipulation of your audience. Go away.

NPR needs "State sponsored news outlet" label.

I believe the fact that he was on record bragging about the crime didn't help

The rights of the victim need to be upheld by the State of Missouri. The Supreme Court saw no reason to stay the execution. Go ahead and tell me your feelings and how I am wrong.

So you are deliberately misleading your viewers to think that the prosecutor that tried the case renounced the verdict?
