I'm 27 years old and I still play this game to this day. Every time I get a new PC/Laptop or upgrade I always make sure it's installed. It's amazing that it's even still modded by the fan base and community. I wish the sequel wasn't canceled (Not Zero Hour that is an expansion).

This game is very special to me. 2003, I had just immigrated as a kid to Canada and I was a bit lost in that new culture and climate. One of my first friends in school took me to his house and we played Generals there. When I got my hands on the game a few years later, I loved every second of it. Loved the Chinese faction!

One of the best things about Generals is the mods. Rise of the Reds is my favourite but there is also Shockwave and Contra as well as many others. All are great.

I was in elementary when this released. I was surprised to see it show up today! My dad and I would play this together, work on missions together. Lots of fun bonding time. Zero Hour was my favorite. Would play as the general that would give you the stealth bombers all the time.

I made a GLA (hostile units) mod for Space Engineers recently, it was a little tricky to get their vehicles to drive in a stable way, but the nostalgia made it worth it!

General is the most perfectly timed kino game ever 2nd by mgs2. The voice lines, music and art It all just incapsulates the war on terror era so well.

DUDE ! Major nostalgia trip for me I remember begging my mom for this game in walmart and she actually got it for me and I absolutely loved it, played it all the time.
I was probably 11 or 12 ish, and then after playing Command and Conquer I would hop on MSN messenger I think it was and talk to my friends in chat LOL.

I turned 20 when this game came out. Still plying it today. All thanks to modding community. it keeps the game alive.
All the different mods make it playable today. And is still awesome game.
RTS games became a niche in early 2000(There is stacraft franchise, but also dead, not sure its modded like C&C:G)
Im missing good RTS games like C&C series, KKND, new Starcraft. Those are games i grew up with.

I remember my brother buying this when it first came out. I was about 8, and he was 15. First game we ever played together across the LAN. So many good memories, faking sick at school so we could go home and play it. I lost every match against him but loved every minute of it. The online multiplayer was also unreal with all the modded maps and different game modes.
