Ukraine had a choice to keep trying to go up against a wall of land mines and hardened defences in the east, or go for a softer target. Not a hard call to make tbh

The biggest reason this is a win for Ukraine is that the western countries supporting them will feel better about sending Ukraine more weapons and money.

Video misses the point that pushing young conscripts into battle is not only politically dangerous, but its also militarily pointless. They will consume limited resources whilst surrender en mass. How would you like to be a professional soldier surrounded by scared kids?

In America, you invade small country.

In Soviet Russia, small country invade you.

It seems to me that many people in the comments don't understand that Ukraine is taking a risk in this operation, just like any attack. Ukrainian generals believed that this would be beneficial for the war effort, and people need to remember that they are the ones with the most knowledge, intel and of course the most to loose if it fails. Risks are a part of war and short term gains can work out, but they could also end in disaster, and two weeks is not enough to tell what the operation will become. Basically, don't make radical statements about how either Russia or Ukraine are doomed based one one attack, either side could recover from an attack or create new bargaining chip which could win them land. This war is attritional and the side whose equipment, support and manpower runs out first looses, at the moment this could be either side.

Sun tzu - “attack where the enemy is weak, defend where enemy is strong “

Nothing new .
This created a big dilema for Russia .

The question is a dead end. We are lacking the critical information on what they want to achieve, how much they have in reserves, how heavily other areas are defendet etc.

I could be wrong, but I believe this is meant to be a Tet offensive 2.0

The Tet offensive was a huge military defeat for the NVA, but it was a political defeat for the U.S., which argueablr drove the US out of Vietnam.

Ukraine just took out the bridges on the river, so it looks like they will try to hold some of the territory.

Ukraine is going to have a supply of new troops since their mobilization is reaching fruition.

Wow, Binkov, you really trigger the orc trollbots. They spew the most wildly delusional stuff here. It’s hilarious and quite entertaining. Keep up the good work.

Yes, in the Belgorod region, split the Russian forces on multiple fronts.

It is a very good move for moral gain on ukrainian side.

Ukraine should go for Belgorod that would substantially impact the lines in occupied territories by making logistics go around the long way.

The russian incompetence is incredible. Under any normal standing army this kind of attack would have been easily repulsed
