Biggest gift you can give your children are critical thinking skills. You know you've done a really good job in raising them when they get old enough to call you out on your own BS.

I think the stickers say, "Look how cool I am" " I have a great life cause I have stickers to prove it"

This is why they say some of the people with the highest social media presence are actually lonely and needy.

Given what this guy does for a living, he should be really scary. But he ends up with all these videos that make me teary-eyed.

I love that you taught your children these life skills. My dad worked for US Customs and encountered all kinds of criminals. Situational ones and really bad people. In my teens, he ran through a room, stopped and said something and ran out. When he came back in, he asked lots of questions. Was I wearing glasses, what did I say, how tall did I seem…he made me “street smart”, to a degree. I’ve become a sponge of people and their behaviors. I soak up details. I am totally into body language and can tell so much by it. YOU have showed me I’ve only tapped the tip of the iceberg. You’re incredible. Much of this must come naturally to you. You just can’t learn it without experience or that ability to truly read others. I learn something every time you speak! These shorts are great for quick bullet points. Thanks!

So fascinating. And once you see it you can't unsee it. All I see now on people is their trauma

Oh man so true. When I do self-check-ins I'll often give one word to my internal state and then I ask what's under that and what's under that. It always cascades down to loneliness and shame.

Because we're living so unnatural that I'm not even sure people remember what natural is.

I'll tell you what I know from the stories you use to illustrate your points. You're a good father. 🕊️💙✨

I talk to A LOT of people (outside of my occupation as a caregiver). I find that, although I was the one who took the initiative to engage.... most people, once they get started (given an audience-me) the just keep talking (telling me their stories, talk about their friends, their family, their travels, their health, the health of someone they love, etc., etc. etc). Back in the 90s (when I was younger) people (complete strangers) used to just come over to me and start talking to me about anything and everything. It used to unnerve my boyfriend at the time.

Doing my NLP & coaching courses both taught me this to a very deep degree about humans. And also how to see the duality in everything!

We walked by a car with bumper stickers all over it and my child said "ooo a car with stickers on it! When I grow up, I'm going to put stickers all over my car" Her window in back of van has stickers from bank all over it. Some people are just extra people. Fun doesn't necessarily mean lonley. Some people get their cup filled from thrill of roller coasters...some a puzzle. There's stickers on the toilet seat lids here. A collection of keepsakes for yourself doesnt necessarily mean you care about how the people around you interpret it. Too busy living to care.

Almost everyone with 12 bumper stickers or 5 or whatever are saying HEY! I AM. PAY ATTENTION TO ME. Depends on the stickers but they want the world to see them. And someone to hear them. Or they have existential angst. Does a falling tree make a sound if no one is there to hear it? So do I exist if no one ever sees me or hears me or cares about me? That’s what they ask.

Praise be to God our father, to the glory of Jesus Christ our Lord!
When we are lonely, he is ever present and will never leave us or forsake us, when you cast your shame onto him he takes it from you bought with his blood, and once you've suffered a little while he will not only comfort you with the comfort that comes from God, so that you are then equipped with to comfort others in any suffering; but he will restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. Hallelujah 👏 🙌 ✝️
