TRIP REPORT | First Time on the Emirates B777! | Johannesburg to Dubai | Emirates Boeing 777
Показать описание
Emirates Trip Report of the flight from Johannesburg to Dubai onboard one of the Emirates Boeing's 777-300 on a beautiful summer day over Africa.
A really comfortable flight onboard the Emirates Boeing 777 from Johannesburg to Dubai. Once again, even though the flight was around 70%, I managed to have 3 seats for me, making this almost 8h flight towards Dubai a lot easier. This was my first time flying on the Emirates B777 and I must say that I liked it. Of course, if you compare it to the A380... it doesn't have any chance. Now, compared to almost any other airline, it is great.
About the onboard service, although I liked it in general, I must say that I appreciated a lower quality compared to my previous Emirates flights. The chicken meal was tasting good, but the salad was, in my opinion, one level below the usual Emirates. The dessert was clearly under what you expect from Emirates. Bad taste, bad looking. Caloric bomb without taste.
That said, when I finished the meal, I asked if I could get another chicken meal. They said of course I could. I asked then for an extra napkin, as mine was looking very used. Well, what happened next was a real surprise. My offense threshold is very high. It is hard to offend me. However, I must say what they brought me was really rude. Just check it on the video. I just took it and moved on... but other passengers might not have had the same reaction. It never happened anything similar. Not only with Emirates, but with any airline. I will take it as an exception and use it to value more the perfect service they usually offer.
1 hour before landing they served a pre-landing snack, which turned out to be a sandwich consisting of a slice of cheese and 2 pieces of bread, and a cold plastic-packed brownie. It was more than disappointing... I already said in previous Trip Reports that Emirates needed to improve the second meal. Now I say it even more clearly: Emirates must improve the second meal. For the price of their tickets I really think this is not acceptable.
About the flight itself, we departed from Johannesburg on time. After some nice views of the city and Pretoria, we flew towards Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, and Tanzania. When we were already over the Indian Ocean we enjoyed a really nice Sunset, with camera clips from both sides of the plane. We flew in parallel to the Somalia coast on course to Oman. From there, a final direct course to Dubai was set, where we finally landed around 40 minutes ahead of the scheduled, after a spectacular night approach over the city of Dubai.
Now it's your turn! Have you ever flown with Emirates? How was the experience? Which route did you fly? Have you ever been in Johannesburg? Maybe in Dubai? Have you ever flown on a Boeing 777? Which one do you prefer for flying with Emirates: the B777 or A380?
Lots of things to talk about! See you all in the comments!
