TRIP REPORT | First Time on Air France B777! | Johannesburg to Paris | AIR FRANCE Boeing 777-300ER

Air France Trip Report flying from Johannesburg to Vienna (via Paris Charles de Gaulle airport) onboard one of the Air France Boeing 777-300ER and an Airbus A320 on a very turbulent night over Africa and cloudy day over Europe.

A quite comfortable trip from Johannesburg to Vienna (via Paris) with Air France. Although it is not the best Boeing 777-300 I've seen and the legroom could be better. Overall, the experience was fine. A flight clearly marked by the strong turbulence we had during the first half of the flight over Zambia and Congo.

Our route took us on the first flight over South Africa, Zambia, Congo, Central African Republic, Chad, Algiers, Spain, and, finally, France. An interesting route that would have been much better during the day, but you have the explanation in the video about why the majority of the flights from South Africa to Europe are operated during the night. Special mention for the approach into Paris Charles de Gaulle airport at the Sunrise with some really amazing views of Paris downtown including the Eiffel Tower or the Stade de France.

About the Air France onboard service... well, I must say that I was expecting something better. I'm not saying it was bad, but after watching other Air France Trip Reports of equivalent-length routes, I was expecting more. For the main meal, they offered chicken or fish. I went for the chicken. It was good but the whole meal was too small. The pasta salad was really tasty. The cheese and butter were on the standard and the dessert was a cheap classic almond cake.

One very positive point that I would like to say about Air France is that they offer free WiFi during all flight for messaging apps (no photos or videos, just text) that allows you to keep in touch and, for example, notify anyone about your exact time of arrival.

I flew twice with AF A320 CDG-GVA flight time 45 min. Full dinner was served ham sandwich, quiche lorraine rolls with butter and desert wine was included also tea and coffee. 2nd flight FCO-CDG fligjt time 2hrs Airbus A321 again full catering with fish, potatoe, tomato and zuccini salad with rolls and butter and a desert. Soft drinks wine, coffee tea waa included. Both time very friendy crew and excellent service

I was on an AF 777 in 29J. Its the 2nd row of economy. The first row of economy has only 2 seats, so I had nothing in front of me. I was able to stretch out my legs completely for the whole 8-hour flight. 29C has the same.

As a long time viewer I should have known that a 30 minute video would be a trip with a transfer.
I loved the night flight, the city lights from above.
The AF B777 first class was also something special to see.

Now it's my turn. I've flown with Air France and it was soo good. It was a flight from Dakar(GOBD/DSS) to Paris(LFPG/CDG) onboard the majestuous 777. It was soo good that I was disappointed when I came back in France. As for me, Air France is the best airline i've ever flew on.
