More bad news for Boeing as they've experienced another difficulty on their 777X testing program with, as reported by Andreas Spaeth, an engine problem with the GE9X that has halted tests and left the engine headed back to GE for further analysis. Tune in to see how the program is currently unfolding.

GE knows their engine design better than what you can reasonably expect any aircraft maket to know, GE's the one that says the engine is fixed, and it's GE's patent, therefore this is entirely GE's fault. Boeing has done their part of testing, and that's how they found the engine problem. Therefore, if this setback warrants conpensation, GE should be the one paying

If it's a manufacturing glitch..or defective part, shouldn't be too much of a delay..if it's another component that needs a redesign, .. totally different story..
Will soon find out on the 6th...

What the modern turbofan is being asked to provide is nothing short of incredible. Look how far it's progressed since the late 60's. Its a continuous evolution that's right on the cutting edge of modern tech. So, naturally, if your pushing these boundaries there's going to setbacks and need for redesign. Ultrafan, will not be available for sometime yet so go for it GE.

That A350-1000 and the 777-300ER is looking very nice. I'm not surprised at all.

Thanks for the video! Why doesn’t Emirates just buy some of the other used A380s out there? Too expensive retrofit? Not enough super jumbo gates? I’m seriously asking? Anyone?

Not surprised. GE has major problems with the hot part of the 9X and they can't have been solved in 6 months as the company said primarily.

That also the problem of just choosing one engine manufacter instead of 2-3 for a plane. With multiple engines brands if one its having problems flight testing can continue with the others when you put all eggs in one basket that its the risk you run.

The more complex any piece of machinery including aircraft engines get, the less reliable they become. Just because previous aircraft engines are reliable enough to allow a 2 engine airplane does not mean these new ones with so much new technology will be. Of course the real answer will come if or when one goes splash or splat. This is a serious comment that asks a serious question.

Boeing is ready to move forward with the platform based on GE making a engine that functions as designed.
The setbacks have constantly been the GE engines and Boeing just keeps taking the brunt of it on many fronts.

I hope they take it nice and slow and don’t need to rush.

How RR didn’t catch the well documented Trent 1000 issues this early like GE is doing is beyond words. I’m hoping in service the engine shouldn’t have much problems like the previous GE90

There's no rush to bring the 777x into service now because it is the successor to the 777-300ER which was only produced 18 years ago and most planes retiring age is from 20 to 25 years

Your content is good and interesting; my only request to you is to bump up the volume of your speech in the videos as even at full volume, it gets a little difficult to hear you properly. And there is no issue with my hearing or the speakers of my phone. I generally don't prefer to use earphones unless it's for a long zoom meeting or conversation.

If it is bad news for Boeing, it's good news for me!

From Boeing to worse. This is the evolution with the US plane maker. A never ending story....

It's amazing how a derivative of an existing airframe could take this long. It's as if the DC-8 Super 60 series couldn't be delivered until 1975, or the 747-SP couldn't be delivered until 1982, or the 747-400 couldn't be delivered until 2000, or the MD-11 couldn't be delivered until 2015. Shall I go on?

G'day Dj, I used to find Airbus's aircraft numbering a little confusing and Boeing's was a snap till now. I don't mind exhibiting my ignorance over this Boeing aircraft.
O.K., so it's called the 777X yet there is a huge '9' on the tail; but then one sees '777X' on each of the extendable wing tips and on the nose area. What does this mean? Is it the tenth model of the 777 family of aircraft; like a 'dash 10' or does 'X' stand for experimental? (Like a 'P' in a circle used to be used for prototype aircraft.) I've learned so much about civilian aviation thanks to you and your channel but this little point escapes me... serves me right, I must have missed a video 😉
Cheers, mate! Bill H.

developing a new or updated airplane is a complex task is you have to do it according to the rules. These rules are made to ensure the safety of the passengers!!

It would be nice to know exactly what the issues are with this program others than the boiler plate response “FAA regulators want”…I get the feeling this airframe will be obsolete by the time it gets certified.

I believe Boeing can sort it out ahead of time and will still deliver the much awaited and most powerful aircraft today and also, the best engine manufacturer GE can still fix it ahead of time. I believe in their capacity and capability
