If you look at Joel's posture when he tells Ellie he would do it again he stands up almost like he's standing up for himself and his decision. When Ellie tells him she doesn't think she can forgive him he falls back down to his hunched over position almost like that hurt him enough to bring him back down. Watch again and you'll see.

There is a silver lining at the end of the game. Joel and Ellie have that talk, and while it wasn't a complete make up, they showed that they cared about each other. And the last thing Joel ever saw was Ellie begging for his life to be spared. So sad, but there's still a hint of good in there

After completing the game, I laid down on the floor breathless and with my eyes closed. Just letting the credits play through. Suddenly out of nowhere I begin to hear Ellie singing this classic song, & I immediately sit up, with HUGE open eyes & the goofiest grin on my face😌😁🎤
