How to remove and install Bit in DEWALT drywall cutout tool THE EASY WAY !

I didn’t like the standard way of removing & installing bits on my DEWALT drywall cutout tool ... so I came up with my own (faster and better) way. I guarantee you’ll like this way better than using the plastic collar at the top of the tool ! I also tell you how you can change the collet so you can use smaller Dremel style bits.

It’s a 5/8” wrench. Your welcome everyone.

Dude, you rock. I picked up on these (corded though) at the thrift store about 2 years ago and never used it until today. I couldn't figure out how to change the bit because, like you, the directions weren't working for me. But, you solved my problem. Thanks.

Thanks man. Pick one of these up and a bundle used. That'll ever use it but I was messing with it the other day trying to see what bits would fit it. Spent about 5 minutes trying to figure out how to get the stupid bit to tighten up or loosen up. Then have up and just threw it in a drawer.

Hell yeah, thanks, your video is the best I've found too. I figured a wrench would work but they specifically say it's a tool free mechanism so i thought I was doing it wrong.

Any recommendations for getting a bit that sheared off out and is stuck inside?

THanks for sharing this. As it turns out I cranked that cover nut ALL THE WAY off and still the tool would not let go of the bit. I finally got a vice grip and yanked it out. I Hate those finger things which force you into hand contortions. My warranty is over so I am stuck., BUt Thanks.

This is the same way I do it. I don't understand why it doesn't just come with an open end wrench like a Dremel.
