as a plumber myself nice neat job! The pan brackets have been a pain in the arse for me in the past. So that little trick you showed has helped me fit newer type WC's with that type of bracket a doddle!

Made loads of sense thank you, my hubby has told me I've got to replace the outside WC . watch this space lol. At the moment its a high level WC so I'm a bit concerned, I'll be using snap fittings . question... Are all toilet water pipes on the left? The fittings outside are and I want to get all I need at the shop in one go, also is there a standard pipe diameter with modern wc's .

I can't remove my cistern from bowl as I have no access to the nuts under the cistern. I can only see screws inside the cistern.

I'm hoping that if I keep undoing the screws in the cistern the cistern will eventually lift off. I've been trying for quite a while. It is coming loose from the bowl
