Just picked this up for Xbox for £5 and these tips are far better than the in game tutorial. The in game tutorial might tell you HOW to do something but does not explain WHY you would want to do certain actions. The game didn't even explain the game loop / premise properly. This video helped me make sense of a lot of things I was confused about. Thanks for creating it :)

I just got this game on sale from steam and I played from 11 until 3AM. Around 350 turns later my city people started turning on me because I was broke and couldnt build housing 😂

This is an excellent starter tutorial. I've been playing for some time now (Civ lll my favourite until Vl), but it's really good to have a tutorial that's not an hour long, with so much info, it's impossible to keep up. i bought civ 6 on sale a couple days ago and it’s very different from the games i’m used to playing. your videos have been super helpful, and i have a much better understanding of the game than i did after playing the in-game tutorial :)

Here's a tip that works for me every time. in the very early game other civilizations tend to send out settlers unescorted. Send your starting warrior over to the nearest one as soon as you have settled your own city. Hang around close and as a settler comes out get straight after it. when you are in a position to capture. Immediately declare a surprise war and grab it. Loot any developed squares before heading off to make a settlement with your captive. this buys you time to produce another warrior and repeat the process. By doing this I have often got myself 4 cities early in the game without having to build or buy a single settler myself. The other city never getting strong enough to attack me due to repeated looting. Even better, if you do this before encountering any other major civilization, none of them see you as a warmonger.
