Went to JHB last Saturday to test drive one. There was only one Prado 2.8GD VX-R available with a price tag of 1.8m, asked the sales guy what happened to the 1.45m listing price on the website, he said there`s a 350k markup due to the shortage and high demand and a 1-2 year waiting list 😅

This is the car to take overloading. The Everest platinum, as much as it is a 4x4, looks more like a roadtrip car.

Government in Australia fine you for using a phone when driving and rightly so yet they allow vehicles to have screens which you have to navigate to carry out functions that vehicles use to just a knob. Good on you Toyota for seeing how much more sense in having a knob that you can use without looking down so you don't have to take your eyes off the road.

Nice review Greg. Everything brand new but the engine? A lot of money for the same 150 kw engine you can find in a Fortuner. No sunroof on the VXR? I think its overpriced. If you go and search prices are actually between 1, 6 and R 1.8 mil

@15:47 it seems like the flip up cargo window is right at your headline. How tall are you and isnt that irritating?
Would you be able to retract towbar or is it fixed, seems low to ground.

….now we know why everyone was rushing to release their car before Toyota released this here vehicle….Well done, now I can sell my Fortuner for this Prado. One question though…are we getting the heritage blue Color here in Afrika South….?
