Ingredients:
150g (5oz) Fresh Organic ginger
1L (1 quart) Filtered water
Non-leaching containers and cookware, such as heatproof glass and stainless steel.
Recipe:
Trim off any spoiled sections and wash the skin of the ginger.
Grate all of the ginger into a heat proof glass container.
Boil all of the water and add to the ginger in the container.
Stir for a moment and then cover with a suitable lid, leave to steep for at least 10-15 mins.
Pour all the contents through a sieve into another container, catching and then squeezing the pulp.
Repeat this again if you want to make sure you've extracted everything you can. You now have your ginger tea extract.
Once cooled enough, store the remainder of tea extract in a glass bottle, in the fridge.
Add a small amount of the ginger extract in to a mug. Experiment with your desired strength.
Add boiling water to fill the remainder of the mug.
Wait until at a suitable hot temperature before drinking. If desired add more extract, you can also add honey/lemon for example to adjust taste and benefits.
Use the extract within a week, keep it in the fridge. Scale recipe to suit. Fresh is best.
Consume in Moderation and as per your doctors guidance.
Disclaimer:
Ginger is known to have many health benefits however, it may not be safe for everyone to consume. Please consult with your doctor, and become informed whether ginger tea is safe for you to consume before doing so.
