Often the audience forgets that Invincible is human and not all his decisions are going to be rational regardless of how big the stakes are.

Lulululu is one of the realest comments ever

I mean I agree, but Mark WAS just traumatized by Powerplex showing him that him fighting back also kills people. That also played a part, it wasn't just Eve.

The only thing I’ll give Mark credit for is staying at the hospital isn’t a bad idea strategically. The other marks showed they were targeting specific places and people, such as the Teen Team, Guardians, and even their own home. Some of them would have known about the hospital and would’ve possibly attacked it. Mark staying there is not a horrible idea, however to counter this Cecil was already there and the GDA already had taken down 2 of the marks, so it’s a bit silly for him to stick around that long.

Incidentally, if he got hospitalized taking down one of the stronger invincibles like Mohawk Mark, he'd be in no condition for Conquest's arrival.

Him staying in the hospital with Eve let him conserve his strength for his fight with Angstrom. He was almost pushed into his portal so imagine if a tired Mark went up against Angstrom, then everyone is dead.

The problem is that admittedly mark also has problems with the fact that if he leaves he is putting his faith into a critically weakened GDA (they stated that the engineering wing was destroyed meaning they couldn’t make more reanimen and there are marks that are stronger than the one we follow) even if mark left he might not have a been able to do anything to stop it.

Lulululu is such a divine comment and then the sequel praising the first comment is even more beautiful. One does not just think of a word but to have a sequel made by the hands of another commenter is beautifully majestic

I mean he's still pretty much a kid and given what he's been going through it's understandably rough for him, but I'm sure after Conquest he'll begin to learn his real responsibilites and learn to manage all of his responsibilites

I think him staying in the hospital was a good thing by accident cause if he would’ve fought the invincible and then went and fought Engstrom he would’ve lost and even if he won that he would’ve been so tired when conquest showed up he would’ve been running the craziest gauntlet of all time

It’s very much the point of invincible writing to show that superhero idealism and ethics aren’t realistic to uphold on top of building interpersonal relationships with them. Mark SHOULD have been helping but it’s understandable that he wouldn’t wanna leave Eve knowing other invincibles would show up to harm her if he was away. While you might see Spider-Man or Superman go out to fight the big bad and uphold the status quo you expect from superhero stories, invincible subverts them into something more relatable to our world view even if it might be frustrating to see.

I also wanna add that’s been a running theme of the series and esp so in this season where Mark is struggling to justify his no killing the bad guys angle and being had to argue against Cecil’s stance on “rehabilitation” of criminals.

Born to be a human, forced to be a Viltrumite

Ultimately it served earth well by keeping mark in reserves during the invincible war, if he was hospitalized when conquest arrived earth wouldn't stand a chance.

Maxination has none of these problems. The simple eloquence in the word “lululululu” is simply jawdropping.

As selfish as it was, I just loved that moment for showing Mark just how human he is at the core. And I respect main protagonists with flaws that don't always get snuggled, like they've never really done anything wrong in their life because what he did there WAS wrong. And come to think of it if he had gone out maybe Rex might've survived. But that's a thought for another day

What Mark is a kid it isn’t his responsibility to protect the world that’s Cecil’s job Mark has no obligation to help people

Same time, he needed a breather as he was in every conflict getting his name fraud checked.

Nah, you want him to lose his humanity. It's what separates him from being a viltrimite.
