That Toyota Prius has a dashboard light that says check, which means you need to check your engine. This video shows you what to do if the check engine light comes on on your Toyota Prius car. The car in the video is a 2012 Toyota Prius, and this should work for Models up to 2012. The Toyota Prius has an ABDII diagnostic port on it, and you will need an ABDII code reader to read the code and clear it. The code reader port is down below the dashboard on the left side. All you need to do is plug your code reader in it to the diagnostic port on your Toyota Prius car and then read what it says. Some codes are very serious, and others aren’t. Most of them are related to your emissions system, and the car will still run fine even if the light is on. Code reader will show you what the code is, and will give you the option of clearing the codes. Sometimes the code can happen once, and then it goes away. When that happens, you can clear the code and then drive around and see if it comes back.
Here is where you can buy an OBD 2 scanner.

I used ThinkCar to scan then I got the results with VIN = N/A. Is it ok for me to clear the alert?

On your Prius the #1 spark plug is closer to the electric water pump or on your Left side.!. 👍🏽

My mechanic tells me that their diagnosis points to the battery.
