WTF is Tamarind? (Easy Tamarind Paste)

preview_player
Показать описание
Tamarind is a lightly sweet-sour fruit used to add a clean tanginess to food. Don't be like me - keep the tamarind infused water, add a bit of sugar and pinch of salt for a refreshing drink!... or use it to cook rice. 🤘🏼 Adam

In Mexico it's common to see candied tamarind where it's literally just tamarind with sugar, the seeds and bits aren't strained out. It's so delicious--

I cringed when he threw the water away 😬
The rinds left behind in the sieve still has flavour like a soup bone you can use that in your indian/asian gravy base
As a tamarind fanatic I would not recommend this method
But the paste came out great tho

As a Pakistani’ i still eat tamarind a lot and the sauce you made is called imli ki chutney imli is basically tamarind and chutney is sauce, I suggest you to put the sauce back in pan add a bit of water and add cumin powder a bit of sugar and chilly flakes and let it thicken a bit and boom! Try it out

You're watering down your own content. Please consider quality over quantity. I'm a huge fan of yours and I've made a TON of your recipes but I'm not a fan of the style of content you have been putting the last couple months. I'm not gonna say that I want the "old" adam back because I know you're still trying to find your style but I would take 1 GOOD video per week over getting the same info across 100, 000 short videos. That being said...I still love you bby

You take the seed out with a knife and then bring a bit of water and the tamarind to simmer, the chop/stir the tamarind up till it gets thick and sticky. Then use as a paste. No need to soak, get messy and strain.

What was the point of this video, you seemed more preoccupied with being disgusted with the ingredient than actually doing anything useful with it. There’s nothing gross about the texture or fruit, I’m sure you’ve put nastier stuff in your body.
