What so many have forgotten is that this is the first time they have seen their father in years. They all had thought he was dead by then, except perhaps in his heart of hearts, Bjorn maybe knew he was still alive.
That's also the underlying emotion here in Bjorn. He is wondering where the hell his father has been and why he is coming back now. Crossing his arms, he is saying, "Ah! So what is the old boar up to now?"
And that look in Ragnar's eyes is him seeing his much loved first-born son again, as a man. It is a beautiful moment of reunion and challenge.

Him seeing Bjorn like that had Ragnar reminiscing of his prime. You can see how proud he is.

Ubbe has got the most restraint out of the Lothbroks. Ragnar slaps him once, Ubbe stays completely poker faced. Ragnar slaps him a second time, and Ubbe's STEPPING TO Ragnar. That was great.

Out of all the sons to be indirectly/directly challenged by Ragnar, I find it interesting that its Ubbe who takes a step forward, even hesitantly, and not Sigurd or Ivar. Bjorn was the true heir of Ragnar's legacy, but Ubbe shared his beliefs down to his core and truly understood what Ragnar was trying to accomplish.
